I seem to remember Rickie Ponting has (had?) a Ferrari, I forget which model but I think it was perhaps the same number as he is test player for Oz, like 356 or something, also has the number tattooed on himself.

FWIW, Ben Cousins had a new Merc 4WD that he ran away from on Canning Hwy when it was looking like he would have to do a breath test. No doubt some of the other AFL players, Eagles especially, I would think would have flashy cars, when ever they try and interview them after training for the news, in the car park there is usually a few interesting cars in the background.

I would think the Poo and Hewitt might have some decent cars...

Don't know if this is legit but...

I think we should just take it as a given that if you have ever played cricket in either a Test Match or ODI for Australia, then you've probably owned at least one Ferrari. images/smilies/wink.gif

I think James Morrison mentioned in his TGA interview that he arrived at the studio in his Aston Martin, not sure which model though.

He said that he'd arrived in an Aston Martin, but he didn't say whether or not it was his.

I remember reading an article about Lleyton Hewitt buying a Ferrari 360 spider a few years ago. (2004 maybe?)

Merrick Watts (Radio dude, from Merrick & Rosso) had a HSV GTO coupe, But that was ages ago and could be changed by now.

Brian Johnson (Lead singer of ACDC) is a good one,
Everyday driver is a black Rolls Royce Phantom, Before that he stuck to bentleys but his car dealer convinced him to try the Phantom for a while and he never looked back. Has a few other cars, including vintage race cars he actually races with!

More about him and his cars :

2UE studio is just up the road from my work, and when I used to work the early shift i used to always see John Laws (radio personality) heading to the office in various high-end automobiles... from memory i recall an Aston Martin of some kind (cant quite remember, but was most likely a DB9), and a Bentley Continental GT. Im sure he has many MANY more vehicles images/smilies/smile.gif

My brother reckons Webber's got a Carrera GT. He's not much of an "Australian Celebrity", I wish he got some actual publicity in Aus. Especially now that he's got a car that doesn't catastrophically fail every 2nd race.

Doesn't John Laws have a Phantom Drophead Coupe? I remember seeing him driving one a few months ago on the news, I'm guessing it was his. Hewitt had a 360 Spider when he was living in Adelaide... no idea what he has now.

Webber owns a FPV F6 here in Aus according to the FPV website.

John Laws used to have quite an extensive car collection. He sold most of them off a few years back. I'm pretty sure the Valvoline ads he made during the 80s featured quite a few cars from his collection.

I guess Laws is (was) the closest thing to Jay Leno that Australia has ever had as far as celebrity car nuts are concerned.

Pizzati ... I wish I'd asked him what his daily drive was when I went to TGA, but I didn't think to ask. I know he does (did?) driver training for Audi, maybe Audi are kind enough to give him a company car?
I asked Pizzati what cars they owned after filming 02x06 and here's what he said...

Warren owns ton's of weird things (of course). Mainly military, but his daily drive is a Land Rover Defender.
James owns a Citroen C6.images/smilies/wacko.gif
Steve owned an Integra Type R (he made it clear that he had a real one (ie-DC2)) but sold it and is now looking for an old 911.images/smilies/cool.gif

FPV website says

Quote:
Now that the Renault bosses have left the country we can safely reveal that Mark Webber wasn't whizzing around town on Renault power but in this Australian-built 310kW FPV (Ford Performance Vehicles) F6.

Mark, who last drove a Ford when he was with the now defunct Jaguar team, reluctantly handed back the keys this morning before jetting off to KL for this weekend's Malaysian Grand Prix.

"What a great car ... this is what I miss in Europe ... awesome Aussie muscle cars," Webber said.
He doesn't own one...yet.
