Just me or was that episode a bit flat?

Probably the Rolls Royce film that spoiled it for me.

It was a lame thing to do. It wasn't remotely funny as well, IMHO. And because Jeremy referred to Keith Moon, who did something similar, you saw it coming that he would wreck the Rolls someway.

Yep I agree with both of you.

The episode had nothing really special about it. It started well with the GT and the Morgan but trailed off after that.

I want to see the marathon runner vs a car challenge though. That would be good.

I'm sure him/the BBC covered damages. Besides, you'll notice that the car is launched a bit as it enters the pool -- that would only be achieved by having a little ramp set up. You can hear the car hitting the ramp, it makes a "thud-thunk" noise. Its just another silly stunt by the TG crew. images/smilies/tongue.gif

Clarkson: So you're going to get letters from these two saying "You were doing 72 and you were in 4th, and you should have been in 5th gear."
Clarkson: That's what you're going to be getting.
Clarkson: Well, not 5th gear obviously! Top Gear. Be specific on that...

I conter with "registration" and "disabled" images/smilies/lol.gif

Overall the episode wasn't much of an improvement over the last one. I hope they can get the quality up again. Keep the short bits out for a while, make a proper roadtest whatever...

i dun know what you guys are talking about images/smilies/biggrin.gif

I think for a "flat" episode it was rather good!

Not all episodes can be brilliant, but i still enjoy it!

I rekon top gear is getting better and better...

No. They didn't say they were doing it. I reckon it would be good if they ended up doing that challenge.

If that was sarcasm, use a smiliey.

Did anyone else notice when the stig was testing the TVR and the Weisman the 747 in the background?

Is the Top Gear track near another airport or is the airstrip that they use for the track also used for aircraft maintenance and/or normal air traffic?

On this week's programme Jeremy makes a splash when he opens a local swimming pool; Richard Hammond finds out what happens when you take the roof off an Aston Martin DB9 with the new DB9 Volante; James May road tests the Murano, a new 4x4 from Nissan; Germany and Russia give us their interpretations of the classic British sports car with the Weismann MF3 and TVR Tuscan 2 and Christopher Ecclestone swaps the Tardis for a Toyota Liana as this week's 'Star in a Reasonably Priced Car'.
Yeah... Looks like the Maserati Bora story was swapped for the Murano story.
