just because jc gives a car a bad review and you take it to heart dosent mean its a bad car... judging from your avatar you like caddies - who cares if other don't? I mean, theyre never gonna be huge in the UK... people like marmite too - just because you dont dosent mean its bad images/smilies/unsure.gif

(personally i do find cheapness an unattractive feature in a cars interior and would likely go out of my way to not own a caddie in my life time... but hey)

That was a fairly decent episode, a bit mundane but decent.
The limo thing at the start was crap but they did manage to kill some caravans.
Not much else to say really, did have a good giggle when they were showing the Hamsters head shots. images/smilies/smile.gif

I'm glad he isn't trying too hard to "improve" as you often see with celebrities, and just end up being pathetic.

But still I felt sorry for that poor dark-skinned fellow. He came there to enjoy the show and Clarkson made some stupid joke about his race. So then he had to try to correct himself by saying something like that everybody under twenty-five was a car-thief in his eyes or so...
It wasn't anything to do with his skin i'm sure. He'd made that joke to a couple white people a couple times before, "what car did you steal?", just because they looked young. Then everyone "ooooh!"'d because they thought it was because he was black, then Clarkson realised it had been misinterperated and said that.

The guest was funny, and it looks like the identity of the Stig has been uncovered in the mothers segment... images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Also on the interiors thing: It's going to depend what kind of driving you do. If you blast around for 30 minutes at a time to enjoy performance, or 10 minute runs to the shops, then you're going to overlook interior. If you drive hundreds/thousands of miles at a time, you're going to get real sick of a bad interior real quick.

^^^ you dont watch the show enough.

He always calls young people in the audience car theives. images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

I like how Clarkson totally skips over all the great things about the V. Including those massive brembos. Rubbush gearbox?? Its a Tremec T56....those will be rubbish the day that S4 comes in FWD only. As for the price....that samee CTS-V would only be £27,000 in the USA. Its not our fault the UK has FUBAR car prices....

Oh God, I will never EVER get tired of that. Watched it about 100+ times in a row images/smilies/w00t.gif

EDIT: About the Caddy's interior, yes, it's rubbish. If you pay a lot of money for your car you should even get decent interior. Because after 2 or 3 years watching the same plastic piece of sh*t you're gonna hate it. It's gonna rattle, it's gonna squeek and it basicly drives you nuts.

did feel a bit flat this episode didn't it. they didnt' really have anything interesting to throw at us.

i was actually a bit worried when they started mentioning a miss-hap with clarksons car. i thought it might have gotten spooned into a tree or something like that. actually turned out to be quite funny. but tell me, why do they bother with an alarm on the car when they send you a text message when it gets "stolen"? like we saw in the show, its just another thing to go wrong with the car. i can't wait to see what he thinks of it after about 12 months. see if he still loves it to bits. it does look good though i have to say images/smilies/thumbsup.gif

*edit* james' rant about "fat oaf" fans was classic! also you have to consider that they were probably comparing the caddy to the monaro and also things like bmw's and audi's because it doesn't really fit into any normal class of car. i don't think they mentioned those other parts because they were just not notable of mention. the considerable cheaper monaro wasn't proportionately worse so why dwell on the car?

I think the episode was pretty good. Considering the fact that I planned the Sunday for a great Formula 1 race and then a nice dose of Jezza. That didn't work out.

For those of you who don't know about the US Grand Prix, it had only 6 cars in the race because the Michelin-shod teams pulled out due to unsafe tyres.

The opening Limo-jumping-wedding was rather pointless but good fun anyways. They didn't seem to have bothered sticking in with a story for that segment.

The mothers section was great in my opinion. They really thought of a good plot this time around although I must admit one of those mothers were a bit competitive and so were one of the presenters giving tips to his mum.

I love the guest in the Suzuki. He is a true comedian, very funny indeed.

Well, all in all, TG saved my weekend this weekend and I can't wait to watch it again, although the speed isn't spectacular.

Edit: PS. That Stiggy! Wakey, wakey! was BRILLIANT!

Ah, I didn't know that. I knew he is mostly quite harsh to his poor public but never heard him saying that. Thank you anyway for the clarification!

Abouts JC's ford GT, the problem is NOT FORD.

I bet its more then likely the problem is the people who installed the LO-Jack system (or clone of it for the Euro market). Bc what JC was talking about is pretty much problems with the LO-Jack. And i bet the problems are bc the GT is a new car and its not like the compaines got a lot of time to work with it and make sure there system works with it.

You should give a shit that car prices in the UK are an utter joke. For example....the WRX STi. £26,400 in the UK.....£16,400 in the US for a faster version. He could have at least mentioned that the CTS was an AWSOME deal in the US because there are people outside the UK who watch Top Gear... *gasp*

As mentioned before US prices are irellevant for UK viewers. And let's be honest, that is the Top Gear audience. BBC World is just a gimmick.
You shouldn't even begin to compare internationally. Let's take another car as an example. Im sure the Tata Indica is a sweet deal for Indians but why should anyone in the UK care. It serves it's purpose on another market with different standards.

It seems to me that you take the whole Top Gear expirience a little to serious. Relax a little and start laughing about your own country and Clarksons bias towards it..
