Oooh it was such a marvellous episode. Lot's of intresting cars and the last segment with Boxter and SLK was very innovative. The last two episodes have been great!

I really loved the piece on the Maserati Grandsport, I have soft spot for Maserati after I owned two biturbo's. I was dissapointed when they dissed the 4200 GT and the MC12, but Maserati is back as a serious car... Just have to wait ten years or so before I can afford a second hand.

I totally agree to that !
You have to love the Grand Sport. It looks great, like all Maseratis do and it seems to be going pretty good too.

The E Type is one of the dullest looking cars I have ever seen, I really don't get the obsession with it.

I can't believe that the McLaren F1 lost to the E Type in the 2nd series as the best car ever.

Hitting anything with spray-and-pray won't work in real world images/smilies/wink.gif. If it's ever used, it's used inside, in small range, but even there single shots are usually prefered, since they're accurate, and you can shoot them pretty fast.

Spray-and-pray is the panic button images/smilies/wink.gif
No, it won't work in the real world. This has been tested by, who else but the Americans in the Vietnam- war. They mainly used spray-n-pray in the jungles of Vietnam. The result is writen is history and to that loooong wall in Washington DC...

They used about 10000 rounds per SOLDIER per one killed Vietgong-soldier during their stay in Vietnam. That really isn't very efficient..

edit: THE coolest car ever: Porsche 911

I suppose the infatuation with the E-Type comes with beeing British. I'd rather have a Mercedes 300SL Gullwing, Thanks ! images/smilies/tongue.gif

Grrr I hate it when Jeremy refers to the Boxster as a "poor man's 911". Given the choice, I'd go with the Boxster even if money was no issue -- I'd rather have fun in a mid-engine car than fight with a rear-engine one.

Yes, the boxster has superior features over the 997, such as mid mounted engine, as you mention Cactus. But the SLK - now _that_ must be for people who couldn't afford the real thing, the SL.

Jeremy has a an SL55 (or used to anyway). So the tested SLK has the same engine as in his own car. No wonder he likes it. I don't like the SLK design. Its even worse than the old one. Too vulgar. That SLR wanna-be nose. I don't want a car with a design mimicking a 350.000 GBP golf club carrying boat of a car.

I couldn't buy a Coupé with those Honda Prelude rearlights knowing that they took the place of the beautiful Giugiaro designed 3200 GT lights (see my avartar). That's what you get when asking American focus groups about italian car design images/smilies/ohmy.gif

The SLK engine is NA, while the SL one is supercharged. But I completely agree on the SLK nose. The rest of the car is ok, but that nose images/smilies/yucky.gif
