Car: Toyota MR2 Mk1, Toyota MR2 Mk1 SC, Peugeot 309 Rep Power: 19 ![]() ![]() | Yes it is the 11th. It's the next Top Gear episode, and Top Gear is shown every Sunday evening here in the UK.
__________________ Yup, two too many cars, but I love 'em: 1991 Peugeot 309 - owned it for four years, currently the only runner and the daily driver... but great fun to drive! French though, so gotta treat her rough to keep her happy. 1989 Toyota MR2 Mk1 - owned it for two years. Love it loads. Currently undergoing a suspension upgrade... 1987 Toyota MR2 Mk1 SC - A project car that had Headgasket issues when I bought it. I've never driven it... yet... |

| It was an average episode. I liked Clarksons "Rooney!!" in the ASBO. And the car park scene. But Ladyman was mostly boring.

Car: Ford Focus XR5T Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I thought it to be a great episode. The 3 supercars segement was grear. I loved the GT and the Zonda. Still can't warm to the F430 (not saying it is a bad car). Pity about the fuel the GT uses (although i wonder if they did put a little more emphasis on it on purpose). The focus part was good, bloody brilliant handling car (kicking up the wheel in the wet). Although I was disappointed by the fog when they went to do the lap. |

| I believe the FORD GT was Jezza's one, am I right ? The "Isle of man" numberplate ... And is that me or did the rear lights have some electrical problems ?? Wouldn't be a surprise though... ![]()

| The Ford was Jezza's, yes. I also wondered about his lights when pulling into the petrol station. ![]() | |

Car: 2001 Mercury Cougar V6 Rep Power: 55 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | What probably is the case: LED's work one of two ways: constant power, or hundreds of thousands of pulses per second. The 2nd say, believe it or not, is actually cheaper and requires less total power. If your refering to a "flickering" in the lights; by the time you are watching it, the camera has recorded the image to a specific frame-rate which may be out-of-sync with the lights...and then the way it's recorded and encoded may be out-of-sync with the original film...and then when you watch it, there may be some conversion out-of-sync-ness...basically, it all leads to an erratic flashing of some LED lights when you watch it on TV. Of course, this type of LED is typical cost-cutting on Ford's behalf...even on their halo supercar... p.s. this may not be exactly technically right, or use the actual terms, or even have correct spelling, but the basic idea has been spilled forth...plus, I'm tired...I've been up for 22 hours, 14 of those were at work... |

| I understand what you are saying, but if you watch the film, the lights are solid halfway through the shot of the GT then they start to flicker. Wouldn't they have been flickering the whole time if that were the case? | |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | This episode further enhanced my love for this show. It has a great message without being overly technical. It has a light-hearted tone, even with all the pointed jabs about speed cameras and teeth whitening. The trip across France was especially touching. Maybe I'm just a sucker for Brian Eno, but it genuinely felt like I was watching three friends just enjoying life. ..and wrestling eachother about which cars are cool or not! (which makes it all the more playful!) Awesome episode! |
