Top Gear has always reviewed with the heart not the head.

If you want fuel economy numbers or info on how the rear seat folds down, get a sales brochure.

But what the sales brochure won't tell you if the car is any fun, and thats what Top Gear is about - having fun (in cars).

Many people dont care about how many cup-holders a car has, because to them a car, even a small hacthback, isn't just a piece of steel, it isn't just transport.
Its emotive, it passionate, its entertainment, its tells the world who you are.
These people are Top Gear fans.
WOW! I read this just now.

I think it was a great episode, especially the part with the convertible people carrier (even so the carwash was a bit over the top).

I loved the scene when they were driving with the roof down, the frame scratching on the road and James in the back holding the license plate in his hand... images/smilies/smile.gif

The Espace chop job reminded me of johnny knoxville "converting" bam margeras Hummer H2 into a convertible images/smilies/tongue.gif

By the way.. Jeremy being angry with trees? best laugh of the show images/smilies/thumbsup.gif

IMO, i think the whole episode was pretty good, although maybe its just me, i didn't really like it at first and sort of missed the way they did it in the past like all those jokes in the news and sort of slightly longer reviews on the cars...

the micra C+C, that was a bit too short....i was intending it to get longer and see what hammond would do.
new Civic, it wasn't too bad although - this is just my personal view and some others too - in some HK forums i saw, people said the new civic hatchback looked like a potato, and the scenery sort of took me away from the civic...
CCX, one hell fast car...just unbelievable...if they are going to bring it back with the GT spoiler, i couldn't wait! hope to see it soon...and maybe develop from the CCX with the GT spoiler into a Le Man car or sth. i think it has the potential...

the espace convertable was pretty funny...where it seems to just break no matter what and setting fire to the the car wash machine...lol images/smilies/biggrin.gif and did u notice the windows never seem to fit inside the roof? it always sticks vertically up.

and the dog or new host...it just slept all the way in my point of view.. images/smilies/wacko.gif

Good episode. I love the Koenigsegg CCX. How can Koenigsegg manage to make a such engine (850bhp+)? Seems Bugatti Veyron (1001bhp) is more complex than CCX. Two different approaches. Before waching this episode, I was expecting CCX will beat Zonda F. Veyron have rear wing, but it's heavier. Can it beat CCX easily? Anyone knows why TG didn't put Veyron on the track last time? Not ready?

Hammond said at the end of the episode something like "When Bugatti actually gives us a Veyron to test on the track"

so VW hasnt given top gear a bugatti to use on the track. who knows why, who cares.

Also the Veyron you saw in the studio was not a real Veyron it was just a mule or somthing like that. The one they used in the race was real, but it went back home right after the race.

Did anyone notice, during the civic review, that Robot in the background that kept changing colors....I looked on the French Theme Park Site provided earlier and I saw no mention of it, also...it looked very Photoshopped in...it looks like the robot from the orignal lost in space???? Any thoughts???

I thought it was great. On a scale of 1-10 I give it a 9. Not the best episode ever, but definately entertaining and very funny. Can't wait till next one is out. images/smilies/thumbsup.gif

You guys have been saying that the Pink Nissan Micra paint job didnt match the studio one.

Well im pretty sure that they are 2 DIFFERENT cars.
Correct the "Test" one, was the one Richard mentioned in his column a while back where after he said Nissan would have to pay him to drive it Nissan took him up on it. They painted several bright pink and sent them to various journalists and for every set of so many miles they drove they donated money to a breast cancer charity (hence the vivid pink).

The one in the studio however was the proper pink colour.

Oh Hammonds article about it http://www.mirror.co.uk/motoring/ric...name_page.html

How often do you really get to drive 240 mph? I would take the rear wing any day.

The part where he was arguing with the tree was brilliant!

I have a question about the Koenigsegg who pays for the damage for such cars? top gear? or they just send it back anyway? I mean if I am Koenigsegg company owner and they returned the car like that no way I am going to give them another one!!! and the problem is jermy doesn't seem to care that much!!

yea thats the problem with adding large flamboyant spoilers, your top speed just gets thrown out the window. im just kinda wondering why they didnt add a spoiler that changes position with speed. does it add too much weight?

yup .. the entire rear bodywork of the car is just one large piece or Charbonfiber and paint images/smilies/tongue.gif
and teher is no room for stuff. under there .. (have you seen the huge mufflers on this car?)

mizofatso: the Top gear test is so important for Koenigsegg that they pay for it themself..
hell even the Fifth gear test (all 2 seconds) made people want it
