Ferrari can be as exotic as it wants to be and cushion the buttocks of its high maintenance clientel. No matter though, because if you wanted a true track car without any compromise then the ZO6 is the route to go.

| The thing is, even if they're going to script something like that, I'd like them to make it less obvious. As you said, the camera was right on it positioned ready for it. Why? That's good directing in an action movie, bad directing in top gear. Have it shot from a camera further back, not properly focused or pointing right at him, then suddenly shaking into focus and zooming as he's about to go into it, as if the camera man is going "oh my god!" and panicking to get the shot. If you're going to fake something make it look like it wasn't faked at least. That's my only complaint about the scripting, and about the director.

Rep Power: 21 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I, personally, have no issue with the scripted crash. I've come to expect these kind of things from TG. In almost every race they do something to heighten the drama. To make you wonder who is really going to win. Yes, I know it's scripted perfectly but I just take it as entertainment. I mean think about the Z06/flame race, you can tell that the flames aren't a coming from a line of fuel. Look at how the flames mushroom and explode. It's not a smooth flame that would occur if it was a just a line of fuel. They were doing it with pyrotechnics. It's all done to make things more interesting to watch. |

Registered just to say that I'm wondering why everyone's banging on TG for its scriptedness. If I wanted boring reality, I'd just get out of my house for a while and watch the grass grow or something. The scripted stuff is part of what makes TG awesome! And some people have been asking what the point of the Tomcat vs Jet-propelled kayak race was. I don't know, but it made me want a Tomcat and a jet-propelled kayak, and I think that's damn good... Seriously, the editing, the camerawork and the soundtrack for that race was top-notch, probably only topped in this episode by the Jag review when the BMW and Merc made their pompous entrance. Plus, that Tomcat sounded like an off-road Ferrari... I think that's the difference between TG stuff and FG stuff. FG to me is like a glorified sales brochure. I can get the stats and figures from the net, and the presenters... except for Tom, none of them can really present well. TG on the other hand makes me feel like I'm driving the cars they're reviewing, like I'm part of the experience (especially the Zonda / Ferrari / Ford GT ep). Just like the kayak segment here. I really didn't care much for the latest FG episode where Tiff basically reviewed a gearbox instead of a car. ![]()

I'm happy for scripted events to happen. I suggested that the new director make more of an effort to hide them. Cool down.
