Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Wow, that Z06 time totally shocked me. XK review was beautiful, but I don't think the car is at all. I see the Aston Martin cues, but I also see things that remind me of a Ford Taurus or Hyundai Tiburon. |

| ^ will bore you to death | Wow... I'm suprised JC liked the z06 even that much. Not even a "leaf springs" comment... thank god. The time it ran was damn impressive, I wasn't expecting that fast of a time. I loved the "race" between the burning fuel and the car. I had heard GM claimed you could do 0-hundred-something in forth but damn... to go in 5th gear! That car has a taller 5th ratio than most cars "final gear" The Land rover was pretty cool, the race was "meh" but that truck was awsome, if a bit sofly sprung/dampened in the rear (notice the ass end bottoming out over the jumps but not the front). Does TVR make their own 4.0 v8's or are the companies claiming "tvr v8's" using the old Rover/Buick engines that are modified? Quote:
I say anyone who buys a z06 and bitches about it's road manners should be shot, as it's not for posers, buy a base model if one wants to wear gold chains, and blast 80's Hair Metal.

I think it's a fantastic looking car and goes like it's pants are on fire The XK. I think I'd want one over the AMV8. It's gorgeous. The radio segment I can't believe people were getting so shitty... but then again, maybe it was all old people wanting to hear about the girl guides doing a brownie sale, not when the bong in the car wash should go off ![]() |

| i love james' quirkiness in adamantly going on about something completely off and random. last week was them monkeys this week with the bongs. i thought the Jag Xk bit got a bit weak when they introduced the germans. not a real, proper comparo in my opinion. i do realize it was just a quick comparison for the sake of making the Jag look pretty or whatnot--but still. | |

edit: and i think i'm right in saying that the z06 in itself is already faster than the carerra gt. if the blue devil does get 600hp then i think we're talking enzo pace.

Rep Power: 14 ![]() | Erm. Z06 isn't faster than the Carrera GT. Corvette's own test driver lapped the ring in 7.42.9. Carrera GT lapped it in 7.28. The corvette is more than 2 seconds behind in the Top gear's test track as well. |

| [/quote]someone with f360 money would go for the f430 and you're right in stating that a z06 would kill an f360, but when you buy a ferrari, you are not getting only the car, but a piece of ferrari heritage, a piece of engineering excellence, and just a better car overall. how much better does it sound to say you've got a ferrari than a chevrolet? edit: and i think i'm right in saying that the z06 in itself is already faster than the carerra gt. if the blue devil does get 600hp then i think we're talking enzo pace.[/quote] Although I do agree with you, you can't argue with results. Yes the Vette may be American and yes it may not have the finesse of a Fez but for it to be faster than an 430 is downright mad. If you buy a car based on performance (and I must admit I do), and your not ultra-rich, why would the Ferrari even be considered? That said I'd have one over the Vette any day of the week...grey, coupe, manual with carbon ceramic discs... .

I was shocked and disappointed to see Gordon Ramsey back... it's a weak effort to bring back the old guests, especially that useless Gordon Ramsey. He just makes money off being a bitch and ripping into people. They should have new people on... like Ricky Gervais or Hugh Laurie. |

| Not A Dude | Is it just me or is James looking a bit...well....wider? He has hardly has anything to do during the first 2 episodes. I want more James May!!!!!! And the dog looks bored (can't understand why I wouldn't be)Anyway, moaning over, there has been some really great stuff in the first episodes. Jeremy's traffic report was the best ever. They should get people across England to 'name and shame' people causing traffic hold ups. ![]() |

Rep Power: 15 ![]() | This must be one of the worst episodes I've seen in a while.... The Z06 roadtest (tracktest if you will) was entertaining, but missed some of the flair I saw on previous tests. Nothing even remotely funny happened, the radioshow takeover had nothing to do with cars whatsoever (dispite being drivetime radio) and wasn't entertaining at all. The comparison between the Jag, Merc and BMW felt rushed and not thought through properly. The interview with Ramsey seemed rushed at certain points with stupid questions. The only fun thing happened was at the end of the show, when Stig sat down in the chair to hear his laptime. I hope next week's episode is MUCH better.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | hmm, i must say, top gear is coming back. maybe cause last week was the first episode with new changes so things just didn't go smoothly enough. as for the stuff featured in this week's episode, i must say, having seen top gear since i think 6th [was it? i wonder myself] series and grasped most of what top gear is like, and how they hated american cars, which they still do, they actually gave a pretty positive review for the corvette Z06. it probably still takes a big glup of gas every time but being able to go from zero to such high speeds in 5th gear is . although i personally, still get slightly mixed up with the different version of the corvette - Z06, C6 and watever... the XK, i thought it wasn't that bad but then it lifts off after 135MPH [approx 210kmh]? wat the hell...and if they put the idea of golf into it, that sort of makes it worse. and when the other two cars, 650i and SL350 came down the road, i agree with some of the other viewers too, thought may and hammond were in them and do a three car review despite the XK was the main focus. race between the tomcat and the jet propellered canoe, that guy's arms must have hurt like hell. and they should have explained where they needed to go...not like just run for your lives till the finish. the radio show, i think they really should've some of the better parts, not just looking at that VW van that is not moving and how they screwed up the show [big time] although it was pretty funny when may interupted the sports reporter. hammond was actually pretty concerned and that was good as when a show is on live, nth can go wrong so it was actually no wrong for hammond to TRY and get things through to clarkson and may. [why did they choose a cadilac?] the lap time was amazing for the Z06, one hell of a crazy time, Stig, haha, owns all the celebrities and the F1 drivers. "made from aluuminum" - americans need to learn speech still, american sat navs sure help promote fatness in the states "system is showing the fast food icons". geeze...americans will never be able to leave their flaws. ![]()

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | If you've the money the 430 is definatly the one to go for. Its already been mentioned that you get more than just a car and the better normal road ability makes it the better car overall. You could strap a rocket to a piece of shit and it would beat the 430 in a drag race but it's still a piece of shit.

I thought that last weeks episode was pretty crap. It was so obvious that everything was scripted, and the format of the show seemed to be a lot different to what it normally was. I was a bit worried that Top Gear had lost its flair, but this episode proved me wrong. It's still as good as it ever was. They probably just needed to get their stuff sorted out for the new series.
