Hot Lap Oddities

I was looking at Stig's hot lap in the Jag and I noticed something odd..

http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/4938/tg01nl0.jpg
The Stig takes it a bit wide in the penultimate corner, right tires goes off the road for a bit, splashing mud on the side of the car as a result.

http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/624/tg02um0.jpg
Immediately on the next shot for the final corner, the mud on the side of the car is gone!

Could this mean that the hot lap segment is comprised of shots taken from multiple attempts? The Stig of course needs a couple of practice laps to get himself acquainted with the car, but it you'd assume that the lap you'd see in the show is just from "one take" only images/smilies/dry.gif

Yeah, the lap is just the most dramatic of of each lap spliced together to make one exciting-looking lap.

The roadwork part was pretty challenging or so to say, they cut the entire working time from 7 working days dramatically down to just 24 hours, now that's amazing and also quite stressful for the road crew.

The Jag Vs. Aston dogfight part was good enough.

BTW for those of you who haven't watched this episode because VUK is still busy with job, go to Mininova and search for the larger file version.

In addition Hammond also needs a little facial care, just look at the wrinkles around his eyes.

Just finished watching - I have to say that the review of the Jaguar really was a masterpiece, I adore the work the BBC is doing with the videoshooting and editing here. My all time favourite review always had been the BMW M3 vs. Audi S4 review of Series 2, but now I found a new favourite!

It's nice to have the show back anyway and I'm especially looking forward for the review of their US trip because I wasn't awfully impressed neither by the roadwork report nor by the reappearance of Jamie Oliver, but the car segment made up for that. Good show!

I'm glad that I'm not in the business of making you people happy.

Greatep. Not the best, but far from the worst. The Jag vs Aston segment was great, the roads works bit had me giggling, and the crash was, well, a very big crash. I just wish they made time for a news segment. Great to have them back, can't wait for sunday.

I know that is a much to late for discussion about 1 episode but I've download all 9x01 at nigt... it takes me 14 hours.... I woke up 7 times to check is connection ok and how long will it take .... In the morning I had a sweet surprise on my computer.

I made a makeup at 3 minutes and last 27 I watched Top Gear during dressing up... and almost lait to work today but it was worth as hell images/smilies/wink.gif

I never thought that I can cry on Top Gear.... and that was 3 times during this episode.

I'm shocked that Jeremy had all time in program tears in eyes ... that was sweet and this hug with Hammond .... I can't discribe in words. And this words " Remember ...speed kills" I've made 369 photos to put it to blog images/smilies/smile.gif

http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/2669/dsc09343td7.jpg

I'm goin wath this episode 5th time today images/smilies/smile.gif A HUUUGE HUG AND KISS FOR EVERYONE WHO PUT LINKS TO TOP GEAR :*

It's never too late to talk about an episode of TopGear images/smilies/smile.gif

indeed there was a very special "atmosphere" around "Hamster", i guess it'll stay for a couple of weeks...

It wasn't until I got to the second part of the roadworks that I realised that it was a take off of 24. And instead of Jack Bauer trying to save the world or something else dramatic they were just trying to resurface a stretch of road which is generally considered boring.
