Just now watched this episode. I loved the train bit, Clarkson putting on two hats and having the top one tip when he says "at very high speed" like some good ol' boy had me in stitches, not to mention Hammond's mocking of the bit afterwards. Awesome.

Well, now I know what Kristen Scott Thomas looks like, and I have no idea why Clarkson is so infatuated with her. She looks like a stuck-up pompous bitch that drives a car Clarkson hates and didn't know what a Ford GT was. Why would Clarkson want someone like that? Most out of place SIARPC I've seen yet. Ugh.

I liked the reappearance of Top Gear dog, the "drag" race was hilarious.

The tractors was absolutely hilarious, and for once james actually picked the best vehicle. And stig falling out of the seat, priceless (I think i could teach him a thing or two about driving a tractor lol).
Didn't much care for KST, but the train bit was great too. I just wish they actually went back and showed collecting the crops for the race instead of just showing the fuel straight off.

How long is Top Gear filmed in advance?

In the news, Hammond says "O, Really? All of a sudden. 92 programs we've done, you've been in jeans."

How did he know that at the end of season 10, including specials, there have been 92 episodes of top gear during the middle of the 9th season?

Seems kinda weird don't you think?

... wikipedia says "new TG" in Series 9(S9.E5) when Kristin Scott Thomas was the guest (and Hammond said that), was "only" at Show Number 79. That was Feburary 2007. Only including specials they have now reached Episode 92 (S10.E10) ... so Hammond just gave "sum Number" in Feb 2007 that has been reached now ... or to be totally anal, exceeded (Ground Force Special Thingy)

Friday ... as often mentioned in Interviews to be essential to capture the "TG-spirit". To film at the start of the weekend where everybody in the studio is happy about not having to go to work tomorrow, and to broadcast it Sunday where the Viewer is less euphoric (because he has to go to work the next morning) but get´s cheered up by the good mood everybody at TG is in ...

Something I noticed is that the tractor special was filmed before series 8.

When they were doing the tractors laps, they said they had to beat the slowest time ever, which they said was Richard Whitley (2:06), but in the first episode of series 8 Jimmy Carr beat him (2:08).

Slowest thing to lap the track properly, a.k.a. without spinning off.

Does James really say his tractor can drive at a constant speed of 0,06 miles per hour?? I mean, that's really really really slow!

Yes, that is really really really slow but theoretically doable. It doesn't mean that this speed is used in any kind of practical field of application. images/smilies/wink.gif

so was the American special, which was even mentioned by Clarkson during S8, months before it was broadcast. Stange.

You're wrong: they ment 'in a real lap'. Jimmy Carr was just a fool who went off, but Whitely really was that slow. How could you otherwise explain James towing the Mercedes cottage, the amphibious cars, the vans, ...

You're wrong: the remark Clarkson made about the Stig/Muslum remarks/stone remarks referred to an incident he had while filming for his DVD 'the good the bad the ugly'
