Rep Power: 14 ![]() | From 58:00-59:00 - the most inspiring minute I have ever experienced. That was such beautiful editing. That minute alone made me feel the desire to push a car to the absolut limit once again - a feeling that I have missed for so long. Just beautiful.

| Good Episode ... seems like we might have a decent series comming our way, much improved over last series which was just pointless challanges, but of course funny. Great footage through the alps with a bit of Clarckson and Co. phylosofie, cant get much better. | |

Rep Power: 19 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Good episode, but not the big Bang i hoped for. I just didn´t really like the "best Road"-Part ... 2 of the 3 Cars were ugly by color ... that just runined the looks of them. I never thought a V8 Vantage could ever look ugly, no matter what color ... but I was wrong. The Pictures they delivered were stunning, no question. Great Music on that piece too. But I really didn´t care about the roads ... the views, the locations; yes ... but those are not places where I´d care about how the roads are to drive ... I guess that´s just me ... tracks would be interesting, roads not. Roads are supposed to take you somewhere, the track is for fun - IMHO. I seem to just miss the point in this ... But, for the important stuff now ... Furniture ... I kind of like James and Richards new Studio Seats ... Clarksons was bad, but the two others ... I think they are absolutley cool. Not that I´d have them in my Living-Room ... but they are so old and stupid ... they are cool again. Like little thrones. ![]() And that burned Photo ... that´s not an Audi ... that´s clearly a Seat ... ![]() God save the Queen(s) ... ![]()

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Top Gear is back and finally something to look forward to on a Sunday I won’t say this episode was the best ever, still pretty damn hilarious and I loved it, but I think it was a very good beginning to the new series, letting the boys and us get back into the stride of things again. The preview of what's coming up looks great, hopefully a better mix of challenges and car reviews then last series. Though I cannot wait for the new amphibious car challenge, the original is one of my favourite challenges and it looks like we might have a challenge along the lines of the £100 cars and the Porsche for £1500 or less. Best bit was when they went through that tunnel, man what a sensational sound they made. I think the last time they were there was when Richard was road testing the Zonda. James must have drawn the short straw with the Aston though. And even though it was supposed to be honest and lightweight it was still no match for the Lambo and the Porsche and out of the three I think the Porsche was the best. And I hope they bring back the cool wall, I love that item. |

Rep Power: 8 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I really was disappointed for the lack of studio parts. They only had very short news. And they only had three "parts" in that episode: 1. The VW Golf W12 2. The (short) news 3. The Lightweight supercar thingy. I think that because of the number of the films it was a bit boring. The Lightweight supercar thing was too long and they didn't actually roadtest those cars, they only spoke about eachothers and the countries - NOT ABOUT THE ACTUAL CARS!!! Don't get me wrong though, it was a good episode, but it could've been better.

| I just finished watching. Definitely great to see them back for a 10th season. I also noticed the poor camera at the start of Hammond in his Porsche. I think they may have fixed it as they went on because his footage was fine after the gas station segment. But that's fairly minor compared to the overall episode. Now, as for people griping about not showing the lap time of the cars tested and too much of "the drive", we have to remember that there's another aspect of being a car enthusiast...and that's actually loving to DRIVE your car. Sure, a track can get you an idea of the capabilities of yourself and the car, but being able to apply that knowledge to the open road to get the most of daily humbug driving is another. The big test of the 3 supercars reminded me of the great feeling you get taking your car on a windy and/or open stretch of road to actually "feel" all the nuances of your car (handling, performance, control, feeling the wind in your hair, etc.). In some ways, the feature would be an excellent basis for a car-person's ultimate vacation: being able to drive these types of roads (hilly, straight, elevation changes, etc.) all around the world. | |

That's how guys seem to justify wearing pink. We should keep a tally of that and I bet Clarkson had something to say to him in between filming.I also wish The Stig had taken the three cars around the track to give them a sort of official Top Gear time, but the basic review of the cars is in the item. The Aston suppose to being a pure lightweight yet seeming not to be as fast as the Lambo and Porsche and also the question of why you would spend more on them then a normal one. And I think SVTWANNABE is right about it [quote][ we have to remember that there's another aspect of being a car enthusiast...and that's actually loving to DRIVE your car/QUOTE] And the episode really did feel like your first day back at school after the summer holidays and am sure things will get livelier ![]() Is it Sunday yet? | |

Car: Mazda 6 MPS Rep Power: 0 ![]() | And driving on a couple of roads in Switzerland and Italy really gives you an idea about THE BEST DRIVES IN THE WORLD. Yeah right. Go and see Trollstigen in Norway. Or any other twisty road in the region. Or mountain roads in Montenegro. Or even in Romania! Just try to imagine, the world doesn't end on the German border! Nor does Europe as a matter of fact. So, informative value of this film was nearly none. It was well done, nicely edited, sometimes funny, sometimes astonishing, but still - not really about anything related to cars. Rather about Richard, James and Jeremy. |

![]() Now that was a great episode, I just loved the lightweight supercars part. The Aston Martin did seem a bit out of place there, as it's a racecar, and I don't think putting James May in it helped it very much... The roads are definately a vital part of the driving experience, and the Stelvio pass is one of the very greatest driving roads we have in Europe, there are also other passes like the Grossglockner, frequently featured when EVO Magazine does their supercar showdowns One of the EVO writers, Henry Catchpole (Top Gear script writer Richard Porter's collegue) is an expert in finding great roads, they might have gotten a tip from him. From the preview, there is also a huge lot of stuff to look forward to...

| VIP | Regiz - very good point - it was more about the chemistry between the three of them - it just happened that there were cars and roads in shot at the same time ![]() [did have an insighful comment about the British perception of Eastern Europe here but decided it was the wrong place and wasn't particularly insightful anyway] ![]() |

Rep Power: 16 ![]() ![]() ![]() | EPIC! ![]() Even a geographically lucky guy like me who has those racetrack-like twisty and empty alpine roads in his backyard so to speak and trashes his 90hp/800kg shed every monday over and around the alps for the sheer fun of it, was in awe while watching this episode. Looked more like a movie then a car/road test. Beautiful, packing, interesting and with the right dose of trademark bickering from the three midlife-crisis lads. Excellent entertainement. Well done. My compliments to Top Gear for the wonderfull hour I had, and to Quiky for the download possibility. Greetings, lip |

The show was really good, except the siarpc bit, I which they would kick it out completely... That N24 (a German TV station btw) Aston Martin was treated a bit unfair in my eyes, it is a racecar made road legal, not a road legal car made racy. That is why the brakes make noises when not warm, why there is no AC and so on. It was developed for the 24h Nordschleifen race and other endurance races, and it is good for that purpose (it managed to move up to the 24th place, and in the 24h of Bahrain it came in 8th, only needing fuel, tires and brake pads). They should have used an AMG Black Series or a Challenge Stradale instead.....

Car: Golf IV TDI Rep Power: 21 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I just finished watching and I very much like how Top Gear seems to be getting back to its roots - car review mainly done on the track with stunning work on the editing of the filming, big car comparison in great scenery (and WHAT great scenery they chose this time!), the studio parts definitely were sufficient but nontheless entertaining to me. To everybody at Top Gear: GREAT JOB! The last series was a little bit akward with a special/fun competition in each show, I'm looking forward for the mobile home race as well as the review of brand new cars, it's just that the excitement of the special competitions isn't that big if there's one in each show. But from what I saw in the preview, I'm sure that I'll be very happy with this series. |

Car: Mazda 6 MPS Rep Power: 0 ![]() | No need to apologize, I guess I don't get the joke. What does me being polish have anything to do with the point I'm trying to make? I've been in Switzerland, I know how amazing roads they have up there in the mountains. But I've seen better, that's all I'm saying. |
