| i think they probably will at some point in the series. i dont think scrubbing the news in the very first show is a good idea to be fair, they've been gone so long, they needed to really fill in the gaps rather than just cast it aside. hopefully colin will get his much deserved tribute/acknowledgement next sunday. cracking show though, absolutely cracking. | |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I think it was a hilarious hour of TV. The shots where great and you really felt they want to find something new,. but I'm not pleased with the sound,. the engine noises were to loud,. and the presenters' voices were barely understandable,. And is it just my imagination or does the audience laugh "differently"? It's a bit like in talkshows. It just feels a bit artificial. But hey, they're back, and the road-review was absolutely fantastic and epic. ![]() I can't wait for next week.

The audience laughs but the quote was, objectively, in no way funny. When I saw that I started to wonder if they add a laugh track in every once in a while.

I did notice that they had gone for very saturated colour filming in the supercars segment - perhaps because they are now being screened in HD?

Car: Citroen Xantia 1.8 16v Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Great episode, though I did notice that the vocal sound was much lower than the engine / soundtrack sound. Had to turn the TV up, then turn it down for the louder sections. (As much as I enjoy the engine note, due to the disgraceful unaffordable rip-off property prices in this country I find myself in a place with paper walls). No mention of Colin McRae hopefully later.Cool Wall - Why was there not a hole from the "chainsaw incident"? Hope they continue this on, it was fantastic banter. Some fantastic scenery on continental Europe. Just like some cinematography from a movie. There are also some great drives in the British Isles that could be mentioned. Why was this section letterboxed in 16:9 (or was this a glitch on the NI Virgin Media region)? Must say though, that much as most folk thought they should get back to proper cars, I enjoyed the old "mucking about". |

Rep Power: 19 ![]() ![]() ![]() | Great episode. The filming was amazing, the vit was in classic Top Gear style and so on. And, James May naked. Err, that'll haunt him, won't it. ![]()

| VIP | Really incredible episode - had to watch it at work as I was covering the bloody Jersey Marathon - but we have a 42" plasma at work so wasn't all bad ![]() I know I've said in the past that I only really like the mucking about and not so much the car stuff but after re-watching series 9 - I now admit I was wrong - Top Gear lost a bit of its soul in the last series - this episode saw it come flooding back. A real gem of an episode in what looks set to be a perfectly balanced series featuring a great group of guys with a geniune love of cars, each other and have a laugh. Top not and beautifuly shot - as always. Oh and - do you guys want me to post the overnight viewing figures like I did last series? They come in about 11am on Mondays. |

Car: Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.2 Oh fuck yeah! Rep Power: 14 ![]() ![]() | I noticed the letterboxing too, looked like 2.15 or whatever the crazy director kids are calling it these days. but meh, looked fantastic anyway. Oh will those people reading the thread please express opinions? otherwise you're clearly just desperate for information cos you haven't seen it :p (Is that a mackem I see there?) Oh as for the laughing they apparently die horribly sometimes and laughter gets dubbed in a lot (did the studio look empty to anyone else - there was a guy in a motorised buggy who kept getting all the air time)

Car: '00 VW Golf Rep Power: 15 ![]() | Good to have the boys back. Excellent episode. Now I'm waiting for a HD rip if it's available, it's quite annoying to watch regular quality when you are used to HD. It's ok in the studio shots, but those nature ones would be a million times better with some proper HD ![]()

| This episode was simply brilliant, glad to see TG back in its proper form. Less of that mucking about nonsense.
