That was one best opening episodes!! The news was v. funny, the film was epic, those Swiss roads and the Italian spaghetti roads at the end were amazing! The cinematography and aerial shots were breathtaking, it was more like a film than a car programme. Well Done all who helped make it the best car show on TV!

Those 3 lighter supercars were magical to watch, especially the Tunnel Symphony!

Poor James and his ruined buttocks and his nakedness, well that's a sight I haven't seen since the Big Wine Adventure!

The preview looks amazing and I can't wait to see the other cars and challenges (African Road Trip, BritCar 24hr, Channel Sailing, and the British Leyland cars).
It's a shame there isn't an extended post watershed version of the show, where maybe items like the news were left uncut.

Default Top Gear is Back!

Brilliant job all around with a good mix of content. Hammond, who I was still worried about, looked fully himself in what seems like years since his crash. Great job Andy, Jeremy, James and Richard. This season promises to be very good if not rival the some of the great seasons gone past. As I am only 141,212th in line for tickets from Applause, I expect when I do get them I'll just be able pop over the pond in my VW Flying Submersible GTI.

But most of all, Top Gear is Back, and this time they are taking no prisoners!

I thought it was fantastic. I agree about the cinematography, it was very well done and the road bit is one television moment I will never forget. It was worth the wait!images/smilies/mrgreen.gif

Top Gear does indeed have some proper crashes. I love how Clarkson is blaming Channel 5 for the fire, and had the guest thinking that Richard Hammond is the middle-aged bloke in a Lamborghini.

Cinematography was fantastic. It's a car show, but man it sure doesn't watch like one.

5 Star episode, It was just greatness. Loved the rib on fifthgear & the supercars were fantastic (well except for the aston, lol).
I was kind of hoping that they would've got stuck in the underground car park again. But I guess I couldn't bare to see those cars all bashed up. images/smilies/tongue.gif

Number 1 as always! I loved the place where Clarkson said something about the fire and accussed Fifth Gear. I was LOL! I hope the following episodes will be even better than the opening one. I want to see the Veyron against the Jet Fighter and the new amphibious vechicles. 8) Wonderful job Top Gear!

Great series opener! Richard needs to cut his hair. They need to get their old seats and TV's back (and the Cool Wall of courseimages/smilies/wink.gif.) Too bad I had to watch it on my PC. I watched Top Gear on BBC Canada before on a big screen (non-HD) and it looked so good; too bad they have to put commercials and cut certain parts images/smilies/dry.gif.

Even though the light-weight super car film was brilliant, it was too long for my liking; they could have easily cut it down a bit and put another car review after the SITRPC segment (or the cool wall if they had oneimages/smilies/tongue.gif.) I loved the series intro (great track.)

Come to think of it, all that stuff they show in the intro probably covers only about 7-8 episodes, so there still will be some surprises over the next series. images/smilies/smile.gif

10x01 Rating: 8.8/10

And Now it's another whole week (168 hours; 10080 minutes; 604800 seconds) till 10x02 images/smilies/mad.gif

The king is back! I watched the 5th gear episodes while waiting on Top Gear and, my god, they are Rubbish!
The best road film was epic! I didn't like the Golf segment, though. I never liked Golfs. This one is the worst so far.
I liked how they joked with 5th Gear. But thinking about it - 5th Gear does copy a lot from Top Gear.

I thought they said they'd never mention THE CRASH ever again.

Great stuff though, great stuff.

I don't think they have mentioned it. Jeremy just likes making remarks that leave no doubt to what he is reffering to.

Oh and I forgot to mention in the previous posts thet this episode was superb.

Absolutely fantastic show...This is what i've been waiting for, for about 7 months, and my god was it worth it. I hate the fact we can't get TG on BBC America live like the rest of the world, not just the 8-9th series. But nevertheless my comp screen is better than nothing. The makers of Top Gear deserve every praise they get. By the way hats off to Finalgear also for getting the rip out so quick. I was going crazy with the refresh botton as soon as the show was over. Great start to an even greater series...

Speechless.

Words literally cannot describe how Top Gear makes me feel. And this episode was definitely the epitome of why I feel this way. At the end of the driving film, I was practically in tears... my eyes are watering even now. And one thing is for sure: I am going to make an absolute point of going to Davos and Stelvio Pass. I just cannot find words for how happy I am to finally have Top Gear back. And I must also give praise where it is deserved: thank you to Final Gear for being there for us American Top Gear fans. I agree that Top Gear should be aired live on BBC America, but until the world is perfect, again, thank you Final Gear.

Ah yes, and I agree with Lilleput and Aiolos... the cinematography of Top Gear has always amazed me. It's much more than just Clarkson, Hammond and May and their... well, Godliness... it's also the camera work, and one of the things that always gets me, every time, the music. The soundtracks that are chosen for these films are almost always perfect and they add such beauty to an already beautiful thing. Congratulations and many, many thanks to the entire team at Top Gear. Well done, as always.

...And I absolutely cannot wait until the next episode.

Oh yeah, and Top Gear, in its full form, needs to be released as a series on DVD. That would really complete my life.
