Have you heard of Long Way Round or more relevant in this case, Long Way Down? That's what you are looking for.

It was pretty good. I liked it more then the America special simply because none of it seemed scripted or contrived. They mostly just dealt with breaking down and/or getting stuck.

It was hilarious watching Jeremy talk about all the problems his car had towards the beginning. And when him and James were trying to drive through the dust without doors was great. "Do you know what it's like when someone punches you really hard right in the middle of the face?" haha

I thought it was kind of boring, but I may not have been in the right mode for it. Im going to rewatch it tomorrow and i'm sure my prognosis will be much sharper.

For the first half show, I didn't get it at why they hate the beetle so much. The fact is that it out-sold any other car in the history (and is highly unlikely to be out-sold in the future). As a 4*2 car, the engine is in the back and it is rear wheel drive, which gives it extremely good off-road ability. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%BCbelwagen has some details about the fact that the military car based on beetle (also a 4*2) is better than American 4*4 Jeeps.)

I'm glad they finally realize the beetle is the best.

The Beetle wasn't the best. Oliver was the best. Jezza only said all that to wind Hammond up.

Yeah, if it wasn't for the near drowning, Oliver would have been the obvious winner.
I doubt even the beetle could have made it across that river without help. James couldn't.

The evil standby bettle got me a few laughs.

Not as action packed as the American special, but still a great watch.

Oliver won it, it was Hammond's fault driving there. Great Episode images/smilies/smile.gif

I guess Hammond's been using the wrong Volkswagen then. His last two didn't float at all.

Great episode! Stunning views & fantastic camera work. Not much else to add to the already glowing reviews.

Is it me or did Jeremy look like "fat" Elvis when he was talking to the camera after his Lancia broke down (around 23:45 minutes into the episode)? images/smilies/lol.gif

Pure perfection. I don't remember laughing so much at anything lately,
and when I wasn't laughing, I was in awe of the epic vistas, Africa is freakin' awesome.

I was expecting something boring, but this was just so great,
I'll download a HD version and watch it again, with friends.
