A much better episode than I expected! The Caparo was about what I figured, blindingly fast but equally twitchy. I wouldn't buy one.

Be fair on the original poster. The question was asked out of politeness and a desire to know. Ignorance is about not knowing and not caring, rather than not knowing and trying to find out.

That was fantasitc. The London race was by far the best Car vs public transport race IMO.

I thought the SIARPC part was funny, but I really hate Simon Cowell. It may be fueled by my distaste for mainstream music, and how he thinks the number of records you sell is whats important. But thats a subject not suitible for discussion in this particular thread.

This season is pretty good, although I'm still disapointed with the news. Very little relating to actual car related news.

Brilliant episode, absolutly loved.

I'm glad that the T1 got taken off the board, while road legal it's hardly a road going car. The Power board is meant to be about cars that are insanely fast, yet still comfortable enough and safe enough to drive on the road. I think Top Gear needs to add another board for over the top cars, like the Renault F1 car, the Aston Martin racer and the T1.

The bit with The Stig and the newspaper was brilliant, as was the jetpack man and Simon Cowell, if only because he is such an easy person to hate. Overall, a great episode, it actually felt like Top Gear.

Easily the best Top Gear made to date, it blows season 7 out of the water, 2 records broken and the race was better then all the others because it felt more realistic and had that special quality to it.

I was right.

Very good episode indeed, funny as hell. Loved the race, Stig on the train reading the Metro images/smilies/lol.gif That Caparo as fast as it is ; is death on wheels and fugly.

Great episode, best this season so far imo.

Caparo was interesting, and I'd agree that it doesn't belong on the power board. Race indeed felt more realistic than the previous ones, which is good to see.

Great ep. THe Caparo T1 is fast, but they really need to work on the reliability. Wheels falling off, throttle sticking open, setting driver on fire, and floorboard falling off is not acceptable for a $500k car. If they really built it to F3 car standards, shouldn't it be much more reliable than that. Maybe the Caparo should name it Devil's T. images/smilies/tongue.gif

The race was great, even though riding a bike is the fastest way, I would probably go with the boat. Over all great race though, it's the first time Hammond won a race I think, so that's pretty cool.

...so what memorial are those apple thingy pins for?
and no, Austere, asking the question is the opposite of ignorance, which is the lack of interest (speak: dont feel like/want to know)

Absolutely!
The pins are poppies worn for Rembrance day also known as Armistice Day - 11th November - which is the day on which hostilities ceased in the First World War. It is a now solemn memorial day for those killed in all wars - a minute's silence is still observed in the UK on the 11th minute of the the 11th hour of the 11th of November (which it the time at which the guns were meant to have stopped on the battlefields of France in 1918. ). Many of the cars at MPH in Birmingham this year were sporting poppies.

Yeah that episode was great! I agree, it was more like the Top Gear I know and love images/smilies/smile.gif
Jeremy in the Caparo was awesome and every time they showed the Stig it was hilarious. He should continue to do more on the show.
I haven't laughed that much for a while, thanks TG and keep up the good work!

Incidentally, I seem to remember a previous TG/poppy thing. The Land Rover up a mountain episode. JC compared the number of complaints received about not wearing poppies (tiny) with the number of complaints about driving the Discovery to the top of the hill (twenty billion).

The London race was better than I thought...it's happy to see a surprising resultimages/smilies/smile.gif
The V8 Vantage review was alright, but what we see clearly that the jet pack closes up with the Aston halfway in the straight, it seems that the jet pack slows down at the end of the race
The Caparo was a big disappointment...not of Clarkson but the car itself...I mean, after spending so much time and money in the programme, the Caparo still suffers a lot of mechanical problems and heavy understeer in TG circuit...Can't they just put some weight on the front so it won't understeer at slow corners?
