Yes, I enjoyed that one - different in that not a lot of mucking about but really interesting none the less.

Liked that BMW, take me home from the Pub at race speed please. ...

Great eps it was fun a bit more normal, the VXR8 segment was nice, the "old car" segment made me think about Jame's may other show from the summer, it was not boring but not really nice either

Lewis was great, fun interview awesome time (and yeah i think he did it, it's not a complicated track and he can learn fast, it's obvious that he is faster than the Stig he is way more fit for one)

Hammond on the F1 was nice, i still think they are quite overpaid to do that but i think i understand more how complicated it is

The BMW with Clarkson was impressive in a way, not much electronic in the car it seem and how long before they can replace the driver by a computer, i would have like to see the time of Jeremy and the time of the computer, James Blunt was actually funny too

I think it will be just the same.
Don't you think the Stif lapped the BMW first, and then it just repeated that lap with JC in it?
I don't think once you've shown that car round the track it knows how fast it can go. I just reckon you'll also have to tell it the speed

That GPS guided BMW was amazing! Wasn't exactly crawling around the track was it?

Awesome episode. There's nothing I didn't like (well, I always like everything no matter what). James Blunt was actually a pretty good guest & Hammond in the F1 was great.
Hamilton is simply the Man, One hell of a driver!
& that BMW was the biggest suprise, amazing.

Another really great episode, it felt like they squeezed in a lot of vastly different segments in this one. I wasn't looking forward to the James Blunt interview but he was actually pretty funny and at least he can laugh at himself. The funniest moment for me was Jeremy trying to increase the braking force of that old car with air friction!

Amazing lap by Lewis Hamilton, of course it was a genuine time. The track wasn't *that* wet and he is the lightest of all the drivers on the board which must make some difference in a car with that little power, still a great drive though.

Oh comeon guys it wasnt THAT wet. Mark Webber did it in a monsoon if i remember right. That was damp by comparison and i dont think a track thats that damp would make much of a difference to that suzuki.

Must admit i thought it would make a touch more than 3 tenths difference. Be good to see what he does in the dry though (as it would webber, incidently!)

The episode was very good though images/smilies/smile.gif

Another excellent episode tonight, with some great guestage from Lewis Hamilton.

I really enjoyed the piece with Hamster in the F1 car- maybe that will show those that casually dismiss F1 as 'boring' just what even the most lowly of drivers is going through to drive those cars. One thing, though...they referred to Hammond's having driven the Bugatti Veyron against the Typhoon fighter as if it was in the past tense compared to the F1 drive...which was in the can BEFORE 'the accident' last year! Tut tut.

Good stuff overall, though.

Well, that was added in the edit, so they made it look like it's chronological.

Old/modern cars was the most fun. Most hilarious was Jeremy who couldn't stop the 330i and when they both sat in that French car and didn't knew how to brake. images/smilies/biggrin.gif

That was a really good episode. Can't believe Hamilton's time on a damp track with some oil on it. He has to come back and do it on a dry track.

Loved the old car segment I like it when they do stuff like that and they had good humour in it to. Hammond in the F1 car was very good to really see how difficult they are to drive and I want a VXR8 didn't think they would be testing it so A nice surprise to see it there.

That was a fab episode and because I'm a sad git that really loves history - I loved the standard car controls bit.

What I'm loving about this series is the mix - one episode is full of laughs, fun stuff and general cocking about - another more serious stuff.

This series has taken bits from across the last 10 years and mixed them in across the board - which is what was needed.

Like it or not there is now a hardcore of Top Gear fans that love the cocking about and don't care about cars (Clarkson touched on it during his interview with Simon Mayo) but there is also a core of fans into the cars.

I think they've got the mix right = they've done enough to impress both cores of their fanbase.
