I gave this episode an 8.

The Good - Jaguar XF (when does it hit dealers? I want to go take a look), M3 vs RS4 vs C63 (I want an M3 badly, when do they hit the dealers?), G-Whiz

The Bad - none really, though I dont like Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.

Cant wait for Top Gear to get back with the next series.

Great end to a glorious season, by far the most captivating and funny 10 hours of my year. The next few months will be hard for me, hopefully Fifth Gear and D MOTOR can soften the withdrawal symptoms.

As a 2 time M3 owner and on the waiting list, aand currently driving the last generation of the Benz C63 (C32) - I loved it images/smilies/smile.gif

I'm really happy that they finally came to the conclusion that the C63 AMG and RS4 are just copies of the king, the M3. Albeit, very good copies. But I laughed really hard when Jeremy dressed up like a M3 owner! So true... at every M3 meet, there's at least one guy that looks exactly like that.

It was an alright episode, I was probably expecting more, which is why I probably didn't like it so much. The 3-way review and the news were the only bits that I enjoyed.

I give the XF the interior, but, my god it is so god damn ugly to look at, I just could not live with myself if I owned one. It has the proportions of a Lexus (ouch images/smilies/sad.gif), and the front fascia of a Hyundai or KIA (ouuuuuuuuuuuuuchh images/smilies/sad.gifimages/smilies/sad.gifimages/smilies/sad.gif). The only angle it looks good from is the rear, but the problem is, it doesn't look like a Jaguar; not from the front, not the back, nor the side. Makes me sad, really, if this is the new design direction of Jaguar.

The awards were pretty boring, I really couldn't care for them. Oliver's introduction was also pretty underwhelming, in my opinion.

The star in the reasonably priced car had funny moments, but since I don't watch doctor who (or get it here, or know what it is), I couldn't follow the interview so well.

The 3 way battle had nice shooting, a brilliant location, fun reviews (ish), and a good flavour of the three guys having fun with the cars. I personally absolutely LOVE all three of those cars, and would love to have pretty much all three of them depending on the mood images/smilies/tongue.gif. If pressed for a choice, though, I would take the Merc, because this is the first C class that has actually appealed to me, and, to me, it just looks fantastic. It also goes like a flipping rocket, which, in a real world situation, is pretty much all that counts!

Last but not least: Watching that JPS go round a track was orgasmic... I have no other word to describe it... what a beautiful looking - and sounding - car

Great episode - perfect way to end a brilliant series. Bring on series 11.

The best bit was Ms. Stig in the swimming pool. Had to watch that a few times.

Did anyone cringe/laugh when JC said "Amazingly DESPITE its AWD, the RS4 took the lead" lol. Also please someone repost the lap times. I couldn't hear them.

That was proper Top Gear. Good old Top Gear. 10/10.

kekekeke: awd cars are slower to take off cause one would just burn the clutch if it was dropped right there.

Hear hear!

Something I forgot to mention; that Lotus sounded like sweet sweet music. And sex. Combined. Into one sound.

Orly?

I've personally dumped the clutch at 6000rpm in an RS4 from a standstill, and it survived.

I rather like the XF (not sure I'd get one if $$$ wasn't the problem), though you are right it does have a bit of Koreanish look too it. Nonetheless, James never seemed to have a problem with the modern XJs/X350s and it has that retro look as the S-type. Perhaps it's because the S-type is fugly with extra gravy?

Loved the episode, but there's 1 thing, that they never dropped from season 8-9, it's cutting the segments, fgs they end like Sopranos.

If anyone wants to know the laptimes, they were, as announced through the two-way:
M3- 2:38.9
C63- 2:43.4
RS4- 2:43.9

And Fittipaldi's Lotus... 2:15.16.

I wish they used the same track layout that they used in jc's dvd for the f430 vs gallardo comparison.

anyone else spot the "eau rouge" in the video hehe.

I'd say 10/10 for this one (second episode in succesion).
The XF review was good, James highlighted just about eveything that needed to be highlighted to mark the differences between it and the S-Type.
The news part was funny, especially the car-related Christmas gifts... I loved the way in which they mocked just about every bit of kitsch that is advertised with a car brand on it.
Stig's holiday resort was a perfect place for what is surely the comparison test of the year. Call me mad, but out of those three cars, I'd have the Merc and ask for a little more power out of that engine (AMG engineers say that with minor tuning, that engine can go up to 580bhp with little effort), just to think that I've got an "ordinary" car with the engine from the F1 Safety Car. I'd avoid the M3 completely. But the biggest surprise of this segment was the Lotus 72 that won Emerson Fittipaldi the Drivers' Championship in 1972 and 1974... The sound of the Cosworth DFV is devastatingly good. I know that, because on my trip to the F1 Hungarian GP, I heard 20 of them at the same time in the Historic GP race on Sunday morning. Probably one of the most glorious sounds of F1, apart from the V6 turbos and the Ferrari and Honda 3.5 V12s.
I loved the way in which the Awards confused even the presenters... because that's what they're meant to do: cause confusion, and also cause laughs. The remote-controlled G-Wiz was fun, especially when Hammond blew it up...

Overall, an epic conclusion to an epic series. Bring on Series 11!!!!!

I don't post must often but this was one of the second best eps for season 10

On a side note, James May invented a new technology for the during the Jaguar XF. Maybe its a joke but I did laugh when I heard it.

Its somewhere between 6:00 to 6:05, see if you can catch it!

I will miss TG! :'(
