I don't have a wallpaper but if that shot was available I might just make a exception. To quote is does beg wallpaper goodness.

Was not a fantastic eoisode but very good, did have some fantastic moments thouigh stigs female friend being the best. Whats the big deal over the Mustang so it don't have 500hp and they said it did, what you having a song and dance about it for, does not exactly have any significance to the test. Are we sorry they mis quoted or sorry it was not the 500bhp model. A more powerful mustang would have just extended what was already a huge time span on what was already a god awful long time looking at a checkered flag fluttering in the breeze.

I've given it a 9 out of ten because bearing in mind that it was the last episode of the season (and last episodes tend to be quite "less exciting") and it was great.

Great group test to end the season!! Of course I was with the M3 from the beginning!! images/smilies/tongue.gif

I really liked how they used songs featured in PS3's Motorstorm during the lap times of the three cars!! images/smilies/biggrin.gif

And what happened with the Cock of the year award??? I was really looking forward to see who screwed up the most of the three!!! images/smilies/lol.gif

Well now it's time to wait again to see probably a great season coming (GT-R, EVO X, Impreza STi, 8C Competizione and the Mondeo!!!)!!

I give it a 7. The Jag review is good, the news is good too. The saloon review is brilliant but I was expecting more since the success of the first episode. Nevertheless I'd have the Merc because people buy these sport saloons so they can go to work faster, not to demolish track times (therefore I think comparing them with the type 72 proved the point). So more power actually makes more sense here.
The biggest disappointment was the awards. I was expecting it was just a laugh and totally not serious. But i wasn't expect this bad. The whole point of the award was not about cars anymore, it was more like an excuse to mock at each other. And when they do talk about cars, they just blew it up (the G-wiz) or left it for the audience to dicide. I know it's not strictly a car show but they need not do this just for entertaining sakeimages/smilies/dry.gif

I think the TG team just loves to piss off Americans hehe. They know that brits don't know/care but Americans will scream murder.

For me, it's just about credibility.

Great ep, not outstanding in any dept, but the first properly car review oriented ep of TG this season, great cars reviewed, great films too.

- I like David Tennant a lot, big Dr Who fan, and now they've had both new Whos on the show (Chris Eccelston in series 6)

- Jag XF definitely looked a lot more impressive in motion

- yes M3 owners in general (with the exception of some forums members of course) tend to be a bunch of cocks, well put

- thought the GeeWiz segment was a little protracted but still hilarious

- News - for the first time it was like watching the news segment without the editing, and Clarkson even made an allusion to such, it was a little random, but really funny to watch and made me actually feel like i was at the taping watching all their banter between filmed takes

Tom now I know you are kidding. Your looking for credabilty on a show that turns a S class into a cottage because cars are getting more homely, and go on a ordinary holiday, with a ordinary car and a ordinary caravan and manage to blow it up, try to send a reliant Robin into orbit. Credibility right. Wonder how many posts if they was to miss represented a Murcielago on power.

The "500hp" false info is a running gag since the episode with the Mustang power test, nothing more. It will be further used everytime there is some suped up Mustang on TG. British humor at its best. Subtle but consistent. Love it. images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Greetings, lip
The only problem with that is the fact that the Shelby GT-500 is made by SVT/Ford, and the Shelby moniker is simply licensed to that car, it is not an authentic Shelby. I accidentally started a thread about this in the main area, sorry for that, I'm a forum n00b. The Shelby GT is an authentic Shelby, as the Shelby GT-500KR is also an authentic Shelby. Shelby raced for Aston Martin, a heart condition forced him to quit, so he went into the business of making performance cars. Shelby is one of the most awesome car guys of all time, having created such cars as the Sunbeam Tiger, the 260, 289, and 427 A/C Cobra, and a great number of other performance cars. Shelby was friends with Lee Iacocca, and was involved in the Viper project, along with many Shelby Dodge's preceeding the Viper.

GT 500KR video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-Yvu...eature=related

I can see how Hammond's comment hurt the pride of the Mustang enthusiasts here, but they'll just have to live with it. Top Gear is an awesome show and it isn't always factual, although it can be. The TG website calls it a GT-500 in its production notes, so I can see them thinking it actually was one, nobody is perfect.

Perfect as in pasting a bunch of cheap body parts to the body? The Shelby GT is a horrible attempt at making a special edition Mustang. Every car looks like it was attacked with a JC Whitney catalog.

I'm not terribly sure what part of my comment you're addressing. The Shelby GT is uniquely different from the stock Mustang, if that's what you mean. My case, stated above, is that the Shelby GT, is a car modified by Shelby Automobiles, Inc. and that the GT-500 is just a Ford with a sticker that says "Shelby". All of the Shelby GT's parts are functional, the only body parts added are the grill, hood scoop, and hood pins. They are substantially different from the stock Mustang GT.

This episode was by far the greatest example of why I enjoy the internet, this forum, the Top Gear team and the art of filmmaking.

The first time I watched the episode I paid attention to the presenters, which is as always entertaining. Then I watched it again and I pay attention to the cars, which in this episode are fantastic.

And I imagine in my dream world come reality, I'll maybe consult this episode when deciding which car to put in my garage.

Great job all around to all that help bring this episode into my home.

Merry xmas teams TopGear and FinalGear.

And quit bitching about the spec sheets of the cars, we're not all nerd heads about numbers. Take the travel rabbit out of your ass, relax and enjoy the show. That's why they publish a magazine.

It's got credibility, only not 100% credibilty, for example I truly believe Clarkson done the Nurburgring in 9:59 less than 1 second off the time he was trying to achive. On the other hand no1 believes they "accidently" set fire to the caravan. So when something none factual is said or done then it has to be taken with a pinch of salt and know in your own mind it is not right and say "well thats TG, and if it where wholey credible would it be as entertaining or as good". Well thats my opinon anyway.

BTW. When the remote car went under the Wiz and blew it up, somehow I can't see it being during the remote race with "The Stig" is that not credibilty?. Same show, same segment why then mention the Mustang's BHP?.

I just noticed that the TopGear team have chosen to highlight Nissan during their news segment. LOL, I wonder why?? Fantastic choice boys!

I hope TopGear get the first crack at it!

Three letters for you: GT-R.

That is going to be THE car of 2008. It will surely be reviewed in S11. And it's going to become the TG crew's new favorite. It's THAT good.
