| VIP | I was pretty disappointed with this episode. It had a few good points (the Alfa and the SIARPC), but thenews and the entire Japan race were, at best, mediocre IMO. It just seemed to go on, and on...the first coupl of minutes and the last couple of minutes were okay...but otherwise, wandering through Japanese train stations gets boring really quickly. Steve |

Car: VS commodore seriesII Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Just a little bit of trivia.. 167 have voted a 10, 162 voted a 9... but adding up every vote and dividing it by the number of votes recieved give the show a rating of.... 3879/432 = 8.979167 So looks like 9 (rounded) is the overall rating... Very solid! |

Car: Audi s4 Rep Power: 0 ![]() | The race was good, on the edge finish was the highlight of it though.J ust for a sec compare it to the DB9 race, I think it lacked the same excitement. The news was funny, but it was almost a re do from the week before. I did enjoy the C8 review, and they are deffenetly stepping up their camera work game. It was kewl |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I didn't like the race in this episode because it seem too staged to me. It seems like Hammond and May could have purchased a JR Pass, so they didn't have to deal with buying the tickets at the machine. Plus, there are enough ticket machines in English in every train station. I brought all my tickets from the machines with English and avoided those without English. There are also information booths at all train station where people speak English. This is especially true for popular tourist stations and for some reason, small towns. In Tokyo, people are afraid to speak English, but all the signs have English and Japanese. Plus, there are plenty of individuals on business trips in Tokyo, and a lot of them can speak English. And when it came to the food, there are burgers, pizzas, and sandwiches rather than fish. And there is plenty of tofu and pastry around too. Finally, I highly doubt you can walk through your train and end up in a different one. |

Car: Legacy GT Spec B '07 Rep Power: 22 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I enjoyed the race because of all the scenery in Japan, but the race was less impressive to me than the SLR vs boat and Veyron vs Plane challenges. The GTR race really didn't feel all that epic, even after multiple viewings. |

Although I liked the setting of the race and the shots of Japan I somehow have the impression I am missing something. Maybe the GT-R does not have the same fascination as the previous cars on the other races. It could have been a Toyota Crown Taxi and the outcome would have been the same. | ||

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Can somebody tell me, why is it almost dry while JC filming his Alfa-review and so terribly wet when the Stig testing it? Why can't the test or retest the car when it's dry? That's not the first time they do so.... |

Great episode this one, made up for a slight disappointment last week. Think the funniest bit was the response from the pump attendant when JC showed her the Bill Oddie mask (presuming she had no idea who he was but just found it really funny!). Car: Bugatti Veyron (I wish) Rep Power: 0 ![]() | that was a great episode...only wish that he'd reviewed the car a bit more during the race itself, like he did with the bugatti...could have been longer too, and done away with the SIRPC section |

Car: Fabia vRS (180bhp/312lbft) Rep Power: 9 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | He was referring to a philosophical quotation along the lines of, '...there is no beauty without strange proportions', to which he quipped, 'Look at Keira Knightley, she's just an ironing board with a face, but she works'. Earliest reference I can find to it is from Edgar Allan Poe....."There is no exquisite beauty... without some strangeness in the proportion." –Edgar Allan Poe, "Ligeia" Last edited by corradoboy; July 18th, 2008 at 09:13 PM.. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I watched it with my 65yr old mother in law who had never seen TG before (we were on hols in a cottage and so we all had to watch whatever is on). I think the fact she's set the video for this weeks episode already shows that in one episode alone she's become a convert! Nice on Wilman et al. |
