I think I've just solved the mystery V8 noise, I didn't twig it at first but in the final ariel shot there's a black Land Rover driving along with the horses. Maybe if they used this as the chase car for the Terios, the noise wasn't dubbed, it was just the noise from the wrong car. In some bits you can hear the little 4 pot after all.

GT-R - no fakery there I'm sure. I bet that thing could put your back or neck out on a track easily.

News - really enjoyed it. James was allowed to say a few bits and the way they segued into Jezza's running internet gag was really well done.

Corniche vs Grosse - nice. That Merc has a lot more class than you'd perhaps give Jezza credit for. Not sure sure about James' Royce. Makes him look a bit like a seedy backstreet pornographer!

SsIARPC - not a fan of Dragon's Den and expected these two to be a complete par of peenarses but they just weren't and to boot had some entertaining stuff to say and a real go around the track.

Fox Hunt - great fun! Wonder it that was a real paint job of just those fancy printed vinyl panels. The latter probably, That Terios looked like fun, although i bet you wouldn't treat it like that if it were your own.

Best part of the whole show "die getting 500 cheeseburgers out of your poo chute!" - James obviously really enjoyed delivering that line and scripted or not it was piss funny!
Couldn't have said it better. Had the same score too 8/10.

i think you've got it there, makes complete sense. shame that it wasnt the Terios though, guess that could be something to do, put a V8 into one

Great episode. The part where Jeremy was killed felt scripted or I would have given it a 10. But don't you reckoned it is worth a bonus point as he didn't die trying to get 500 cheeseburgers out of his pooh chute? I did so I gave it full marks!

Great episode. Off-roading segment didn't interest me but the rest was super entertaining. Loved the old Merc!

Watching the understeer-less GTR on the track was also cool. That car really is a baby Veyron.

Best episode in the current series so far. Great challenge with the big old cars, very funny. They are getting back to the essence of what TopGear is, which is fantastic.

I'm not one to nitpick over small details, if the end result is good.

Blah, don't worry so much about whether or not something's scripted. Once you start looking for it, you see it everywhere, and it just kills the enjoyment of it.

I actually have a friend who complains a lot like Jeremy when he's not feeling well. So much deja vu when he was sitting on the ground behind the Grosser complaining about how dead he was.

I'll rate it later, might have to give a 10 just for "I'm about to be eaten by dogs. I'm a pregnant woman and I'm all alone." Very solid though.

I haven't finished the episode yet, but

ARE YOU JOKING ME!? 1.19.7!?

EDIT: What did Hammond say was the ugly Citroen? I couldn't hear him, and I'm not familiar with Citroen.

The GTR review was just fabulous! Hopefully it will now convice the nay sayers that it is an amazing car and it does have "soul". The luxury car challenge seemed to be like any other of the car challenges. The Daihatsu race was staged I suspect, especuially when Clarkson got stuck in the stream in the middle of the race. Thoroughly solid episode though. I give it an 8.5 so it's 9/10.

totally agree with clarkon when he says vauxhall are the only car maker who have no ugly cars in their line up. The insignia is a great looking car, and the astra.. well what can i say, i drive an astra H sporthatch i love them, Mr JC has great taste

A great episode too!!

I gave it a 7. Not as good as last week, but still pretty good. I want Jeremy's Mercedes.

Good ep. Love the additional GT-R content and the lap time on the TG track. It's pretty quick, almost as quick as the Atom. I'm very impressed.

The old car challenge is actually not bad, it's pretty cool to see these cars still turns heads. I'd probably go for the Rolls Royce just because it's a Rolls.

The Terios hunting segment is pretty good too. It did pretty good for a car-based SUV with only 84hp. If it had more power and maybe a locking diff it'll probably out run the hunters.

8/10.

Great episode, loved the GT-R review, the classic car challenge and the country side race.
However the weakest point of the show always has and always will be the stars in a reasonably priced car segment. I think they should kill off the damn thing for next season, the time could be used for much better things.

This episode was far better than I thought it would be...

GT-R was amazing.
Had a few lol's at the throne and Jeremy's Horn.

Would have to be the best ever news segment... I want the light green 2 seater to the right of Hammond. Very impressive air bags.

Mmmmmm smokin !

They already make a show like that. It's called Fifth Gear. It needs to be set on fire.

Couldn't agree more. I found the first two eps to be awful in terms of Top Gear. This ep was excellent, best "regular" ep since 10x03. Last week's was better, but it was more of a "special" - possibly the best "special" ep ever.

Whoever planned out 11x01 and 11x02 and did the post on it needs to be beaten mercilessly.

Except... the Veyron hasn't been around the track yet AND it's most likely to be a lot slower. And the Nissan is a 4 seater.

I'm more impressed by the Nissan's engineering than the Veyron's.

There's going to be a lot of people eating crow over the GT-R - you know who you are - who claimed that it wouldn't be fast around the track, that it couldn't possibly be that good, etc., etc.
