Great episode, my favorite of the series so far I think.

I just wish they'd used a Subaru Forester for the fox hunting bit. I don't think they've ever had that car on the show, and I think it'd have done absolutely brilliantly for all of that off-roading.

Turbo-charged 2.5L flat-four FTW

I thought this episode was absolutely brilliant, the best one of this season (so far).
The GT-R is amazing but I am a big fan of Nissan engineering to begin with.
I was going to say that another car maker that has never made a bad looking car is Land Rover,
but then I thought about the Series IIA bugeyes that were completely butt ugly. But other than
that one car I think the rest of the stable has been good looking (in a rugged, classic sort of way)
Of course I am partial to LRs also, so my judgement could be clouded.

for the first time in quite a while i think i'm going to watch every segment of this episode, including SIARPC, again. i can't put my finger on what makes each segment so great but on the other hand i can't exactly pinpoint anything that would make it bad. wonderful ep.

Default One of the best this series.

I think this was probably the best this series. In fact it seems like each one is better and better. Maybe much like a car, they have to warm up, its just unfort. there so few episodes this season.

Well I guess every series must have its low point, this was it for me. After watching this, I am afraid these guys may be running out of ideas.

GT-R Review: The high point of this show to be sure. IT was awesome to see Fuji Speedway outside of Gran Turismo. The review itself was also very information packed. I like that yet another car has managed to severly injure Jeremy. And great Stig lap. The tires were squealing around every corner! He was really pushing that thing, and I'm not surprised it ran 1'19.6."

News: Boring. Unfunny. Dragged out the speed camera ban thing way to long. I'm sure if I lived in the UK I may see that differently, but I don't. So I don't.

JC&JM Big Car Review: Pointless. Stupid. Complete waste of time. And I got the feeling neither of them was particularly interested in making the film. I knew they both bought these old, big cars. But I don't think anyone could care less how they do in a slalom, or how fast they go, or if they can stop, or didn't know ages ago that trying to park one in London would be impossible. It seemed like a 10 minute excuse to make fun of the pay by phone parking, or maybe for Jezza to blow that horn, or to just get James on camera for once. Honestly, why not just take a day trip to some really cool part of the UK while making fun of each other's car along the way?

SIARPC: Well these guys were sure dull. I have no idea why they're famous after 10 minutes of them being interviewed. They were fast, but so what? Lots of people can drive fast. Please just don't do SIARPC next week. Just do something, anything with cars instead.

Mock Fox Hunting thing: What the fuck??? Where do I begin? Let's start with them dubbing a V8 soundtrack over the chase scenes. They made fun of Chrysler 2 years back for doing the same thing in a commercial for a small SUV, now they do it themselves! What the hell for? Do I need to be convinced the Daihatsu Terios is a big, scary offroader? Or how about the fact that in several of the chase scenes the scent drag and rope weren't on the car? Or Jeremey says he's going 45 and yet the dogs are keeping up with him??? Or how about the fact that what was the bloody point of it? I would have rather seen Top Gear Stuntman do another point less stunt, and I hate Top Gear Stuntman.

This series is only a 6 week run, yet they've had 7 months to make it, and this was the best they could come up with? This show was worse than last series' bad show, programme 6. Terrible. Best go out with a bang next week, chaps.

that was a pretty good episode the GT-R sounded amazing, and the quest for a parking spot was hilarious

I think the old Mercedes in the film was absolutely gorgeous. Wow I didnt expect GTR's lap time.
IF i am rich to choose between new SL black series and SLR....SLR still win my heart =).

I quite enjoyed that episode.

With the current format of guests, all of them so far this year have been 'home grown' UK stars that are completely unknown to the outside world. It's interesting to me in Australia, but it is difficult to understand the jokes compared to when they have people like Lionel Ritchie or Jimmy Carr etc who are better known worldwide.

Lots of respect for the GTR!

Wonderful cinematography as usual.

you see a hypocritical TV show...

i see a subtle joke...given how much clarkson talked about it's lack of speed and power.

anyone else agree? i mean, granted the fox hunting bit felt really forced...but the rest of the episode was very solid...GTR continues to wow me. and i really liked the arguing between james and jeremy.

james really can be funny and i hope they give him more time to talk, i'd like to see him in a sporty car for a change...just to see what his thoughts were.

Voted 8. Great episode, but there have been better this season (such as 11x04).

Pretty good episode. I enjoyed most of it. The fox hunt was cool, but it got kinda pointless there at the end. The GT-R is a rocket. The luxury classic cars were great, I really enjoyed that bit. News was so-so, SIARPC was so-so.

Overall, 7/10

I gave it a 2. It felt really amateurish to me and everything was too heavily scripted. The French car segment(WTF was that about? It was like a commercial!!!) The old cars segment was heavily scripted and boring. The news was boring. The fox race thing, whatever that was, was just idiotic. What was it about again?

It was worth downloading just to see the Nissan GT-R though!

Liked the old cars segment, it was good to see them toy with their own cars for a change. Poor James to be stranded in front of those builders.
One thing I have been missing from this series is a James&Richard segment. There have been loads in the past and I enjoyed everyone of them.

11/10. The fox hunting was the most dramatic thing I've seen in ages. I was literally on the edge of my seat...and it looks incredibly fun to be tearing up the countryside like that, too.

And for the creepy bastards tuning in, some genuine hotties spotted this week, as well - especially in the green behind Hammond during the news...

To be honest, and not meaning to sound unfair - if you don't like it - don't watch it.

The show and the news is made for people IN THE UK - and is paid for by people in the UK and I thought it was the funniest news segment in a LONG TIME.

If you really don't like Top Gear that much just stop wasting bandwidth and downloading it - go download fifth gear or TG USA when it starts.

Top Gear is made for a UK audience and that very large UK audience all seem to love it - in fact I'd say the majority (not those on here) prefer the cocking about, entertainment and funny episodes.

I've said it before and I know many on here disagree with me (but mates in the pub agree) that TG is an entertainment show about motoring not the other way around.

That's a bit harsh - the OP was referring to just the news, which is obviously England-centric. If he had been expecting something else then that would be retarded, but you don't even have to speak English to understand the hilarity in James May recruiting half of London to push his beater Rolls out of the way.

I personally love the news, it's like a little piece of England that I learn about every week.

8/10

Liked it.

Couldn't care less about the GTR. Still liked Clarksons review. Always like to see the stig take a car around the track and this time the camera angles were really good.

news: No signs this week. Otherwise, enjoyed it.

Liked the old classics. Was going to give this show a 7, but I do like to see a man doing manual labor and I discovered pushing a car works to. So +1 for all the car pushing. DId you notice Clarkson's shoes. What man buys "GREEN" shoes?

Have no idea who the siarpc were, but it was good. That guy made Clarkson look a normal size.

Loved the fox hunt. Camera work was well done. Loved seeing the dogs run. Laughed out loud when Clarkson shoved Hammond over the horse.

Really enjoy seeing May and Clarkson interact without Hammond around.

I have the exact same phone that James May was holding when demonstrating the Renault concept.

Why can't I do that with my car!!!!!!!!
