Problem there is that if Top Gear started doing that it would make it seem as if Top Gear is copying from 5th Gear and Top Gear is just too good for that. I honestly don't mind the 24 style format, since if they were to show the 2 laps seperately it would eat into the time length of the episode and more cocking about would have to be edited out.

*saw it live somewhere online*

Enjoyable, almost as much as last week's episode, but I felt the dinosaur thing in the opening review was a bit over-the-top. Let's hope this isn't the "jump the shark" moment.

They should have probably given the classic rally challenge its own episode. While it was good all the way, it feels as if it could have been a lot better but for time constraints. Also fair point about the star: it's the band that's famous and not the people in it, well not if you're a rock enthusiast. Good thing that he's a genuine petrolhead and his lap looked the part.

Since I've given last week's episode a 10 and had only one significant bugbear on this one, I've given it a 9.

Very funny, enjoyed the Nissan and BMW comparisons test even if I don't like either car images/smilies/tongue.gif I also missed the start and have no idea why there were dinosaurs! I thought the cheap classic car challenge was very funny and how they fell in love with there cars....even May and that car was bloody awful!

Great episode, the Z4 and the 370Z are improvements but not really for me.
The news was on top form this week, they get better with practice. Now any SIARPC who is interesting, a petrol head and sets a very good time get a thumbs up from me, very good. Liked the classic rally too, some very good funny stuff in there, will need to watch again.

Great episode.

I really like the new Z4. A lot. I'm still not so sure on the Z's styling, but it looks like a fantastic drive.

Brian Johnson. Just plain awesome.

Loved the classic cars...I think I should stay away from those classic auctions for my own good.

This episode was even better than last week's. Best of the series so far, imho. I loved the dinosaurs in the beginning. It's the kind of idea that starts life in a pub and is still good the next day.

I also liked bereaved Carla Bruni "having a go" at James. I bet she and her hubby are huge TopGear fans. Maybe they can have Sarkozy as a SIARPC. I bet he'd say yes if asked.

I loved the challenge, there were so many good moments. One of my favourite ones is when Maddy asks James: "Do you like saying different numbers?" I have this image of James's girlfriend laughing very loudly when she heard this one. (And I get the feeling Maddy is very good at playing the dumb blonde. She probably will be crying all the way to the Posche dealership about the nasty things people are saying about her. images/smilies/wink.gif)

Happy Birthday Nate!!

The Z4 was a very nice car. A lot nicer than the original.

Star in a reasonably priced car was good too. AC/DC is an awesome band and their music is great, so I enjoyed watching the lap. Nearly at the top!

The challenge was a laugh. I wanted to hit that woman who was with James though... man, she was annoying!
"Why don't they speak English?"
-_-

And Hammond got all excited about his grandad's car... even though it was somebody else's grandad who made the car. Ha ha!

Overall, a positive 7/10 from me.

Actually when they mentioned The Marina Club of Doom in the news I thought they were going to have yet another Marina meet it's end...so they got away this time!

psst, there's a REALLY nice blue one on carandclassic.co.uk at the moment Mr Wilman, just sayin'.

Great episode, a solid 10. What i like about this particular series, is that The News are no longer cheesy.

Solid episode but not the best so far. What I am missing this season are two great things they used to do in this program: one is a whole epiosde of going to a foreign country and buying a cheep pair of wheels, the other is when they go on a road trip with three great supercars. I hope they do that again next season when the credit crunch is forgotten...

I reeeaalllyy enyojed this one, the rally, the news, the interactions, felt like the old days =) And May's codriver ( his girlfriend it seems ) a nice touch..( a great pair of knockers ).

I agree with a post made earlier that the rally should be an episode itself, because I bet you any money there is so much stuff that we haven't seen..but as far as I hear the rally goes on in the next episode??

All in all a great one...10 from me =)
