why? the Pontiac GTo cost $30k and thats got 350hp and 365tq!
even at $40k, the vette would be a good deal, but $50k is an insult!
The base price of the 2005 Corvette is $43,445. images/smilies/wacko.gif
wtf? that would be less than the 2004 Vette!

Yes, yes I do: http://www.carsdirect.com/research/c...ette/2005/base

Edit: Also, I found this price from Forbes - probably a more trustworthy source: 2005 Corvette base price $44,245. Link.

Thats just one guys opinion.

http://www.rapidcars.com/c6specs.html

GM's website doesnt even list the price because it hasnt been formally finallized yet.

Note that I updated my last post. As quoted from Forbes online magazine:
Quote:
Chevrolet has announced that when the all-new 2005 Corvettes arrive in dealer showrooms this fall, prices for the Coupe and Convertible will start below those of their 2004 counterparts even though each will be outfitted with more standard features.

The Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the base Corvette Coupe with a standard manual 6-speed transmission will be $44,245 including destination charge of $800. This represents a $1,305 reduction compared to the base '04 Coupe equipped with the optional extra-cost manual transmission.
From a very reputable source, the base price will be $44,245. It sounds like the Corvette is shaping up to be even more bang for the 'buck.

Same link as above.

Edit: If you want more proof, check out this press release found on GM's official media site. It's identical to the article found on Forbes' website and is straight from GM. So, there is nothing more to argue, the official base price of the 2005 Corvette coupe is $44,245. images/smilies/smile.gif

Has "the best of Top Gear 2004" come out yet? It seems like in the credits for the August 1st finale they said that next week (August 8th) they would be playing that in Top Gear's time slot.

Yeah, it's just content that's already been on TV. Not really worth bothering with it IMO.

When I open the torrent in ABC I get an error message

"Failed : Invalid torrent file"

What to do?
Looks however like a really nice episode!

Odd. Try save targeting it somewhere.

I've been in and seen the interiors of quite a few generations of Vettes. They've always had very cheap, plasticy interiors. Especially the late 80's early 90's models. The worst ever.

They seem to like banging on the dash of anything that's not some exotic supercar. The SLR had a plastic dash, but he just gave it a gentle tap wheras on the Caddy he was pounding on the dashboard. I'm sure if I sat in a BMW and hit the dash I'd get some noise.

Are these cars tested brand new or are they a sort of car show test mule that has been beat on? Because that might be a factor.

Almost all cars have plastic dashes. Its just the really really cheap crap type of plastic that is in most American cars...The SLR has a very well made quality dash from the SL (basically). Richard thought the for $400,000 - it should at least be covered in leather or something more luxurious.
They just use the term plastic very broadly to describe 'cheapness'.
Yea a BMW dash is plastic just like an Escalade, but knock on both of them and you'll know what they are talking about.

It probably comes down to the amount of "anti-rattle" screws they use too. There are a shitload of screws in my dash and it hardly makes a noise when you hit it. Yet on my friends GTP you can hear the plastic squeaking.

it just barely got within the C GT's time on the TG track. images/smilies/wink.gif images/smilies/wink.gif Like the cheap dash on this Benz or not it can run with the C GT and Enzo.

Mind you that youd be fare more comfortable in the SLR than the other too.

I still haven't figured out what the problem with the torrent file is. I still get that error message. I've also tryed on my brothers comp, there it appears as there are no seeders. If there aren't, plz seed.

I'm still able to download the old episodes, so the problem have to be in the torrent file.

36 seeds and 33 peers on this torrent. It's something on your end. No clue what though...

BTW - what was the error message again?

The group of trackers that was running this torrent went down and I'm forced to re-torrent all of my stuff. Since most people already have this from before, it'll be a while before I torrent it again.

I'd suggest asking in the "YouSendIt.com" thread in "Video Requests" for someone to send it to you. images/smilies/wink.gif
