Default Richard Hammond Hover Craft Thing

EDIT - This was originally posted in the TG Spoilers forum, as it was believed to be something for the show. Turns out it's for an interactive DVD.

Quote:
Presenter Richard Hammond, nicknamed The Hamster, turned to two experts from Lee-on-the-Solent's Hovercraft Museum.

They helped him build the world's first ice-cream hovercraft for an upcoming show.

I hope it's like the boys toys segment they had back in series 6 with the dirt bikes and hovercrafts etc. But if they're putting an Ice cream van on top of a hovercraft, it's gonna go wrong any minute now.

I thought they'd managed it for a moment and then I got to the end of the article to discover that it is still not possible to read an article about Hammond that doesn't mention the FUCKING DRAGSTER CRASH!!!!!

The last time they had hovercrafts on Top Gear, they established it was not possible not to hit a tree with one of them, and Jeremy was killed to death. I wonder what will go wrong this time (and it will do so inevitably).

Pretty sure that hovercraft is from Die Another Day. images/smilies/cool.gif It's the right size, right color scheme, and the fake machine gun ports give it away.

I was gonna say.

Anyway, at least in the second one, it was only one short sentence, and there was no mention of attempting any sort of land speed record as there has been in other pieces. (A mention of The Crash in an article regarding the Hamster is almost inevitable. Emphasis on almost.)

Well spotted seeing as you didn't read the article, but can you explain the presence of the airhorns? I know "Die Another Day" was barely better than an episode of the Dukes of Hazzard but I don't recall hearing the General Lee's horn at any point during the movie!

Added on after the fact I assume. Same for the safety light.

And in true Top Gear fashion, the production team were busy trying to cross the old 'Super Softee' van with the hovercraft to make the world's first hovering ice-cream van.

The feature is not scheduled for an airing on Top Gear, but is being made for a special interactive DVD.

It is likely to be called Richard Hammond’s Top Gear Uncovered and will hit shops in mid-November.
