The thing to remember is that oversteer is best, because then you don't see the tree that kills you! Hammond That's a ticket to a festival of plastic death! Rep Power: 8 ![]() ![]() ![]() | Just saw this and it was a fantastic and moving story. Omaha was something i had also not been taught about at school but this seemed to me to give a great description of what happened. The descriptions given by those involved were just horrifying though and i would hate to be there. Hammond did a great job and personally im glad he did this documentary instead of Clarkson as i feel Hammonds presentation style was more suited to this documentary (a bit quieter and less emphasis on particular events while Clarkson will concentrate more on a particular event or individual for a period of time and shouts more). A lot of research obviously went into this and the use of computer graphics was brilliant, bringing the battle to life almost. Personally i think this was i great tribute to the bravery shown by these solders who were involved in the Omaha attack and i hope that a lesson was also learned from what went on here. Never rely on just 1 piece of the puzzle (the air attacks) and that solders should always be made to expect the worst. One last note R.I.P. for all those who died in this mission as well as to all those who have died as part of any armed force R.I.P. |

Car: I am Mondeo Woman! *sighs* Rep Power: 9 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think they have very different styles and Hammond's was better suited to this programme - which was mostly told by interviews with survivors and experts. Richard is, imo, better at the simple voiceover than Jeremy. And in answer to why a documentary on Omaha beach by a British tv programme - why on earth not? The BBC makes documentaries on all sort of topics - it doesn't need to be solely about British subjects. |

The programme was very well written and produced but they missed out alot of very important points and focused on some not so important points for a long time, I felt that they only really told less than half the story. | |

| D: | I thought it was good, though it did seem to get caught up in the ramblings of that one guy that seemed to disagree with everyone else including the vets
