I have been waiting a REALLY long time to see the Veyron in Top Gear.. =)

This might very well be one of the best, if not THE best, episode ever.. The DOg race sounds really fun too =)

The Veyron is so beautiful, so amazing, i cannot believe.. It's biblical, as Clarkson would day it =)

It only drinks that when going at max speed. But it will have to stop a lot.

The last time there was this much expectation towards the release of a supercar, must have been the Mac F1.

I've read a review of the Bugatti in TG magazine, done by the creator of Mac F1. I looooooooved the review, soooo goood!!!!

Despite not really liking it, I'd say it's capable of a 1:16.5

No no, sorry, I meant I don't wanna spoil the _last_ episode for you, since I suspect you haven't seen it yet. My guess for the Veyron really is just a guess...

Wow, I simply cannot wait to watch this episode! I read JC's article (linked above..thanks!) and he is absolutely stunned by the Bugatti's performance. I am not a fan of this car, for it looks interesting but not beautiful. And I (used to) think that the 1001 bhp claim is just for bragging. However, it seems that this is a good (understatement?) sports car after all. If other reviewers agree with JC on this car, maybe I should give some serious respect to Volkswagen.

Also, JC reached 240 mph in Europe? Man, he has guts...even on the Autobahn, that's a ridiculous speed...anything except a McLaren F1 or a superbike would have to move over for this thing.

Once again, I can't wait for this episode. And unlike FG, I KNOW that I won't be disappointed.

Well, I don't like to admit it, but I'm afraid anything that is street legal will have to move over. There was an article on autocar http://www.autocar.co.uk/FirstDrive_....asp?RT=217427 where they apparently did a drag race with a McLaren F1 against the Veyron. The F1 had a 10 second head start, already doing 120 mph when the Veyron pulled off, and _still_ it reached 200 mph at the same time.

They also claimed that the Veyron did 0-60 in 2.46 sec whilst having 1001 hp only in the worst of conditions, putting out more like 1100 hp under normal circumstances. And I really doubt a superbike can get that fast to 60, though I've now often come across claims of bikes doing it in 2.2, even 2.0 sec., which I simply will not believe until I've taken the time myself.

you dont really want to be on a bike doing over 200mph, there is just sooooo much turbulence. a bike isnt what you would call aerodymanic.
this is probably as quick as Jeremy has ever gone in a car, there are only a few more cars in the world that can even get close to it.

There's no way a sportbike will touch the top speed of the Veyron, but I think even my bike is faster through the quarter mile than the Veyron -
10.5 seconds for the gsxr vs. 11 seconds for the Veyron (I think).

yeah most sport bikes will hit 60mph under 3 seconds. i ride a 2003 hayabusa top speed 186. all mags i have read claim 0-60 in 2.6 seconds its fast enough

I think the Veyron does the quarter mile a fair bit quicker than 11 seconds. That's modified Skyline territory. I have the specs somewhere, but off the top of my head I think it's 9.2s@150mph.

I know I read 11 seconds somewhere, but it may not have been accurate.

For reference, the Mac F1 is supposed to do the quarter mile in 11.5 seconds.
