That's too easy to drive... it must be the FW14B with active suspension and traction control.

Hold onto your cork-brimmed hats this Sunday as Vauxhall throws another V8-powered shrimp on our motoring barbie. This is just a mere taster of the cultural stereotyping you can expect when Clarkson checks out the replacement for the much-loved Aussie Monaro - the VXR8.

Renault temporarily loses its senses and hands Richard the keys to a full-blown Formula One car, and a Grand Prix star of a very different kind pays a visit to our studio.

Also in the show, Jeremy and James go in search of the car that set the mould for what we all drive around in today.

Default cant wait

its gonna be a good episode.

Hamster in a F1 car images/smilies/biggrin.gif. but renault must of limited it in someway. F1 drivers needs yrs of single seater experience before they hop in. i reakon the renault guys will have a remote kill switch or add the old controls so that they can tweak the performance of the car to slow it down etc.

hamilton on the show, should be a gdd laugh. they better get the Liarna back. images/smilies/tongue.gif

still sunday cant come quick enough. bring it on.

Well... the images were also in the Series 9 preview gallery. And the caption said that the R25 is in its "full bananas" form, with the big V10 900bhp RS25 powerplant in the rear. And with the fantastic-looking blue-and-yellow livery... images/smilies/w00t.gif I'm used to the new one now, but the 2004-2006 Renault livery was probably the best in the field.

And Clarkson said, when he interviewed Button, that they'll bring the Liana out of retirement EVERY TIME a F1 driver is the guest on the show.

Anyone care to guess where Renault gave the R25 to Hammond? More precisely... at what circuit? I'd say Silverstone.

On the other hand, I'd like Hamilton to come lower than Damon Hill.

No. I am talking about the news segment, the VXR8 has nothing to do with this, that is a review.

It's the 2005 car they're using; that was the 2004 car. And the reason they're using the 2005 car is that it was the last car to win both titles using a V10 engine.

NEW EPISODE DETAILS!!!!!!!!!!

Update from TopGear.com with everything about the episode:
Quote:
On this Sunday's Top Gear, we've got a man who can drive an F1 car very fast, and a man who, well, can't.

The man who can is Lewis Hamilton. You might have heard of him. The McLaren star joins Jeremy in the TG studio to discuss his first season in Formula One and, more importantly, straps himself into our old Suzuki Liana to see how he measures up against Mansell, Hill and the rest of the F1 drivers who have taken to our test track.

The man who can't drive an F1 car? Our very own Richard Hammond, who somehow convinced Renault to give him a test drive in Fernando Alonso's 2005 championship-winning car.

As Richard discovers, piloting a car with a power-to-weight ratio of 1,216bhp per tonne and a V10 that revs to 18,000rpm isn't quite as easy as the pros make it look. Much embarrassment ensues.

Not to be outdone in the tyre-smoking, sideways-sliding stakes, Jeremy gets his hands on the Vauxhall VXR8, the Monaro replacement that's lairier than Grant Mitchell after an evening on the Stellas.

To cool down from all that excitement, JC joins James at the Beaulieu Motor Museum to answer the question that's on everyone's lips: what was the first car to settle on the modern control layout of steering wheel in front, gear level in the middle and clutch, brake and accelerator (in that order) on the floor?

And this week's Star in a Reasonably Priced Car is army-captain-turned-troubadour James Blunt.

That's all this Sunday at 8pm on BBC Two. Don't miss it.

Lewis vs the Stig
Britain's F1 golden boy will make his first ever Top Gear appearance this Sunday at 8pm on BBC Two.

The show that Lewis describes as, 'one of my favourites,' sees him fighting his corner in the kind of no-holds-barred grilling that only Clarkson can dish out.

As you'd expect, Jeremy pushes him on all things that matter, with even Hamilton Senior finding himself on the wrong side of a ribbing.

Lewis then takes on an even more important challenge than clearing up at this weekend's Autosport awards: stepping out on the TG test track against the Stig...

Hamilton gets behind the wheel of the Suzuki Liana - the same car that the other F1 stars Mansell, Button, Hill and Webber have previously found themselves in - to find out if he can beat our Stig's blisteringly quick time of 1.44.4.

The only difference being that Lewis has to deal with not only water but also oil leaked from Jeremy's VXR8 on track earlier in the day.

Will Lewis Hamilton find his pole position winning form when it really counts? You'll have to tune in this Sunday December 2 at 8pm on BBC Two to find out.

But whatever happens, it's sure to be the TV highlight of the year.

Don't miss it.
