Depends what they make him do and backwards off a ramp was OK - I think it was let down a bit by the cutting and the camera work that was not quite up to their usual mark. It was shot in a very straight forward manner, we should have been in the car more with a better build up IMHO. Still lets see what they come up with next for stubby (<- get it fat stunt man?). |

Car: (I want a) Holden Monaro Rep Power: 13 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've thought about it for a while and I think what they have done for this series is go back to basics. Like the old stunts they did in the earliers series and all that.Maybe they felt the earlier was better and they were trying to go back to that.

No one will sing and at the end of the series, no one will have a recording contract. This is our new base. And this is our purpose built test track. There are no traffic jams here, well apart from this one and no bus lanes either. This is Top Gear." - Jeremy Clarkson, Season 1, Episode 1. |

Car: Acura TSX Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Does anyone know which episode this year they go to Japan? I hope in Series 12 they do a world cup of Top Gear where the three compete in a series of challenges against the hosts of TG USA and TG Australia. |

Putting guests on the same show together has of course never happened before... except Trinny and Susana from 'What not to wear'.... or Johnny Vaughn and Denise Van Outen from some show that failed... Car: Opel corsa (wich I absolutely adore) Rep Power: 5 ![]() | We're just back from filming for this Sunday's Top Gear, and we're happy to report that Episode Two is shaping up to be a proper cracker. First up, Jeremy renews the age-old Subaru/Mitsubishi battle - fought for many centuries across the supermarket car parks and high streets of the Home Counties - by pitting the Evo X against the new and suspiciously hatch-like Impreza STi. Who's your money on? After last week's spectacular failure, Top Gear Stuntman is back and attempting to replicate a classic James Bond stunt. And no, it's not the one where that Russian bird crushes the bald man to death with her thighs. Having deposited several hundred kilos of rubber on Manchester Airport's runway last season with the BMW M5 and Merc E63 AMG, we're heading to pastures hillier to test the latest German monster, the Audi RS6 Avant. The slopes of the Alps, to be specific, where Richard tries to outpace some men on skis with the use of bad French. Oh, and speaking of German monsters, Jeremy has finally convinced Merc to let him put the awesome CLK Black around the test track. We think he likes it. Also taking to our test track are this week's Stars In Our Reasonably Priced Car: the Spooks-tastic duo of Rupert Penry-Jones and Peter Firth. Yes, it's two for the price of one again... with added spy powers. And, as if all that wasn't enough, a charred, blackened friend makes a welcome return from the burns ward. Yes, the Cool Wall is back! We'll bring you more pre-show build-up right here on TopGear.com, but for now make sure you clear your diary and arrange the takeaway menus into a neat pile next to the telly. got this from topgear.com |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I agree with Cupholder & mclarensmps... Quit all the "aww it's gonna be crap" already! You people haven't seen it yet so at least give them the benefit of doubt. Not that you should need to! These lads are fantastic and, frankly, I couldn't care if next week's show doesn't appeal to the people that are just after a comedy show. It's a bloody car show! It happens to reach a wider audience because it's hosts are witty and funny enough to generate laughs from people that don't have much car knowledge. Heaven forbid they should, once in a while, put together a show that contains car reviews! I will enjoy it either way and I actually liked the stunt segment. As Richmondgal stated, silly stunts are nothing new to Top Gear and last week's effort resulted in laughs all 'round when the stupid thing ditched a mile early. People also need to respect that Top Gear is a British show and if you don't know who some of the hosts are; so be it! Some of them have been quite entertaining despite their lack of international familiarity. Top Gear doesn't have to quote prices of cars in your currency, nor should they be expected to have an international host every week despite the shows popularity abroad. It would be nice if they did but, at the end of the day, it's a British show. |

Car: 911(996) and BMW 330i (aka Crap!) Rep Power: 20 ![]() ![]() | Evo vs STi isnt 'epic' - just the 2 cars on the TG track. I think you've guessed who 'wins'. The CLK Black piece was interesting. The SIARPC piece was dull as buggery - never heard of them before, although I recognise the older chap as an actor. May's stunt piece was really good and funny - but very short. shame. Hammond's RS6 piece was, a bit mediocre. The 'challengers' seem to have bugger all to do with anything and didnt need to be there. Needed more emotion on the car. And if I remember rightly, JC eluded to the fact they'll be using more double guests from now on. The cool was a welcome return Last edited by theboyG; June 26th, 2008 at 12:05 PM.. |

Car: Ford Escort 1.6 Injection Rep Power: 0 ![]() | hey guys, havnt posted for ages sorry, yeah theres definitely too much negativity going on here. firstly i remember that andy wilman said in his blog about going back to basics. if you look, the pacing is more in tone with seasons 4,5 and 6, which is brilliant. it works, and yes someone said earlier about the stunts. they are also in keeping with earlier seasons, plus i got the feeling that this might take some of the pressure off 'daredevil' hammond so he wont feel the need to risk himself quite as much and will help his family to worry a little less. now after reading that new little bit on topgear.com i now have a new little song in my head, it goes the cool wall, the cool wall, oh yes its the cool wall! (sung to a stupid jingle) really cant wait...plus my moneys on the evo X, but then i love evos |

| I'm not looking forward to this episode. If it's the UK spec STI w/ '07 Limited wheels and crap tires...it's already gobs behind the EVO. I think everyone has predicted that it will be EVO will come out a clean winner coming from Clarkson.
