So we made our weekly pilgrimage to Dunsfold under blue skies, to get some insider gossip on Sunday's show...

James kicks things off this week, driving around Japan in some cars you've never heard of, picking up a couple of interesting passengers along the way.

Back in Surrey, Richard gets his hands on the pig-ugly Gumpert Apollo, and then hands it to The Stig for a hot lap. We know it's a quick car, but you'll have to watch the show on Sunday to see if it's got what it takes to bag a place amongst the prettier exotica at the top end of the lap board.

Top Gear favourite Jay Kay drops in for a chat and has another bash at a lap in the Reasonably Priced Car. Everyone was banking on him to take the top spot on the celeb lap board and wipe the perma-smirk off Simon Cowellâ€'ss face in the process. The track's dry but the weather is warm enough to take the edge off a weedy engine's performance. 1:45.9 is the time to beat and Jay is hungry for victory.

Finally, the series signs off with a fight: Top Gear versus the Germans, and it's a proper battle so prepare to witness something special here. Just try not to mention the war.

In the last show of the current series Jeremy, Richard and James take on their rivals from the German equivalent of Top Gear and, in doing so, face their toughest challenge yet - not mentioning the war. Plus, James drives some exceedingly strange Japanese sports people in an exceeding strange Japanese car and Richard attacks the test track in a remarkable concept car from Mazda.
Finally .... on Andy Wilman's blog he mentions that Jay Kay (Jamiroquai) is the SIARPC.

And by the look of it they are saving the Fox Hunt until the autumn series in spite of it being in the series preview.

If they carry on this way ie shooting stuff and then using it much later do you think one day we'll eventually see some shaky old Super8 cine footage with no sound of the day James first rode his bike without stabiliers*?

After all we've still never seen Hammond's film of the budget armoured Fiat Panda, and given that Fifth Gear did something similar recently I guess we never will.

*For US readers I think you call them training wheels?

I've actually seen that piece of film. He gets his hair caught in the front wheel and goes over the handle bars. He ends up with a rather bloody nose, but a cuddle from mum and a bar of Fruit & Nut soon had him smiling again.

At least it appears we only have to wait around 3 months until our next TG fix .. and hopefully that'll be at least a 10 episode run images/smilies/biggrin.gif

I miss it already, and there's still 2 episodes to air!

At least FG might be able to fill in a little bit of the gap in the mean time ........

The Germany vs UK race will be funny, I'm sure they won't mention the war to much and of course, Britain will win! Strange Japanese cars will be funny and interesting.

Sad to see its the end of the season but I hear they will be back in October so its more of just a summer break.

As with the Fox hunt, we can only presume it will be in next series, which starts in October.

Fox hunting is going to be in the next episode:
http://www.topgear.com/content/news/stories/3048/

What they listed up there might not be everything in the episode anyway.

I just noticed that they titled that "TGTV: show 4 preview" when its for show 5, and I have also noticed, I need to get out more and spend less time watching Top Gear.

When the other team have got Sabine and if there's any actual element of racing involved, I wouldn't bet on it.

If there was that kind of optimism in the world war, we'd all be speaking German and be hailing to Max Mosley!

Oh and I wouldn't exist!....but that's not a big loss
