(I didn't know where to put it but hopefully it can moved by one of the mods)

From the Radio Times:

Quote:
Motoring news and views. Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May attempt to find the perfect car for 17-year-olds, negotiating insurance companies, accident repairs and a muddy music festival car park. Plus, Richard goes to Abu Dhabi to test the new Lamborghini Murcielago SV and stages the world's first ever race between the 1000 horsepower Bugatti Veyron and the mighty McLaren F1. Back in the studio the Star in the Reasonably Priced Car is twittering national treasure Stephen Fry.

That bit of news just made my day. I hope Stephen will thank James for the plasticine roses he got from him at the Chelsea Flower Show. images/smilies/biggrin.gif

The Bugatti vs McLaren bit sounds awesome ,even tho JC's already explained how much faster the Bugatti is (ie 120-200 vs 0-200).

The 17 year old car bit sounds intreging. Probably be some obscure thing or a older Civic Type-R.

He did say that, but reading this months TG magazine they're talking about how because of the heat in Abu Dhabi the Bugatti's 4 turbo's do not work as well (lower air temp means higher pressure, more air compressed into the engine so more performance). So they say that the race will be closer than you think.

That 17 year old's one will be good, looking at buying something soon.

I think it won't be that good. The cars they have bought - are in the spoilers section - are all very expensive to insure, which is the ONLY thing to cause money problems with a 17year old. Cost of the car, petrol, running costs are nothing compared to just how much it would cost to insure the thing - if they don't touch on it in a good enough way, then I will be complaining to the BBC.

Also images/smilies/love.gif Stephen Fry.

If you do, please start it with the disclaimer "read this in Jeremy Clarkson's voice", followed by "I DEMAND AN APOLOGY FROM THE BBC!". images/smilies/tongue.gif

I just bough my 17 yo a car too - a 1999 Toyota Yaris 1.0 GLS as you ask.

A bit tattier but similar to this one.

http://images.carmony.co.uk/vehicle/450x300/img_637354_1.jpg

Stephen Fry has taken over from Hump (RiP) on "I am sorry I haven't a clue" if any of you are interested. BBC Radio 4 play again can get it at the moment.

Right TG - Can't wait for this, Stephen Fry is one of my favourite TV presenters - damn fine actor actually, and a brilliant comic - so witty too. So EPIC WIN on the guest front.

But the piece I really really want to see is:

The Bugatti vs McLaren bit, when ever they go over to the Middle East they always seem to do great segments and add in these cars you get win win win!

OK - they talked me into it I'll watch. ...

Stephen Fry FTW!

"You know, if there's one thing I've learnt from being in the Army, it's never ignore a pooh-pooh. I knew a Major, who got pooh-poohed, made the mistake of ignoring the pooh-pooh. He pooh-poohed it! Fatal error! 'Cos it turned out all along that the soldier who pooh-poohed him had been pooh-poohing a lot of other officers who pooh-poohed their pooh-poohs. In the end, we had to disband the regiment. Morale totally destroyed... by pooh-pooh!" - Stephen Fry in Black Adder images/smilies/lol.gif

And LindenChase, that photo of James and Stephen in the garden is just adorable! Think Jezza will bring the roses up in the interview?
