Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May seek petrolhead heaven in three 1500 pound rear-wheel drive coupes and somehow find themselves entered in a terrifying French ice race. Meanwhile, Richard tries to speed up summer holiday flights by inventing the sport of airport vehicle racing, Jeremy walks with dinosaurs in the new BMW Z4, and actress Sienna Miller is the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.
This should be interesting.

MOD EDIT:

Quote:
Filming’s almost wrapped here at the studio for five – and it looks like a bit of a change from the Radio Times listing.

The ice racing remains – a terrifying challenge for Jeremy, Richard and James involving three 1500-quid rear-drive sportscars and an on-track tussle that really doesn’t end well for James.

But the telly boys have bumped the film of the BMW Z4 and the airport truck racing in favour of a test of Jaguar’s new 500bhp XFR and a new invention by Jeremy that’s guaranteed to save the planet. Almost.

This week’s celeb is, for once, a girl – actress Sienna Miller. Stig took a bit of a shine to say the least and her lap was, well, you’ll have to wait for Sunday for that.

Oh, and don’t forget we’ll have the usual behind the scenes galleries for you tomorrow and Friday – including the rehearsals and the live recording – so set yourselves a bookmark for that.

French ice racing? Andros Trophy! Maybe they'll meet up with Alain Prost. images/smilies/biggrin.gif Reported so that it can be moved to the proper sub-forum (only way it can be done).

I don't get the dinosaur malarky, especially after whatever it was in the season preview...

Rear-drive coupes for 1500 monies?
Considering my situation, that could almost be real consumer advice! (I mean, I know it won't, but still)

Siena Miller? While she may be hot I can't see her being a great guest apart from being eye candy so perhaps this is another red herring?

This one has the makings of mediocre to me. The airport vehicles racing is just another spin on "Touring Car drivers crash into each other" and is getting rather old; 1500 quid rear drive coupes ending up in a race - been there done that too; Stig vs a CGI T-Rex - yeah? so? and? what?; Jezza in a BMW he will conclude isn't as good to drive as the competition.

I will reserve proper judgement until after the broadcast but right now the summary isn't making my vegetables tingle.

Contrary to the above opinions, I think this will be a good episode. Cheap car challenge? Always welcome in any episode as they are hilarious fun. Sienna Miller, may not be overly interesting but eye-candy is eye-candy. No problem there.

Looking forward to Jezza's opinion on the Z4. What Car? loved it in the July 09 mag, and I've seen a few dotted around and I think they look brilliant.

Even Hammond's section looks fun images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Still, we have this weekends to get through first, so lets watch that one before the moaners arrive in here eh?

Interesting turn of phraseimages/smilies/wink.gif
OK, some of it may be a rehash, but it's still the lads cocking about, which is better (IMHO) than the Schumistig schtick was, and at least the CCC will have pretty photography/scenery. Sienna, meh, but then i'm not a bloke.

I hope the guest is a red herring and it's actually you-know-who, but we'll see.

Just saw the new Z4 today, it looks brilliant. I thought something was odd in pictures, but in person it all makes sense.

As for a certain denim enthusiast, perhaps he'd be a good choice to round out the series?

I guess this is where the 944 fits in, which is always good because they're one of my all-time favorites.

The Z4 looks great in metal, still can't help thinking they made a mistake with introducing a hard top on it images/smilies/mellow.gif
Anyway, that cheap car challenge should be great, they have some interesting cars. Hope the other challenges (apart from the ice racing) will be a bit different then in the low budget coupe that isn't a Porsche challenge images/smilies/smile.gif

The new Z4 looks more like the 6 series. I quite like it. I hope they make an M version though.
