the "cie"-part is, as far as I know, supposed to be a "th"-sound, since it is a spanish word. Quoted from http://www.lambocars.com/murcielago/mur.htm: Quote:

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Well I pronounce most the names of cars in their own language, so I pronounce British cars in English, German cars in German, French cars in French (off course without a really big accent )Expect for the abbreviations, like VW or BMW, I just spell those in my own language. |

Rep Power: 19 ![]() | Well I was gonna start a thread about the british pronounciation and saw this while thinking of it ![]() Did anyone else notice that they always add an "r" at the end of words that end in an "a" sound? or is it just me? I mean, the folks at TG always say "idear" and "Toyotar", other than that I actually like the british accent. |

| I don't see how you can end a word that finishes with an "a" without making it sound like an "er". ![]() | |

![]() "Idea" is pronounced with a "ya" sound at the end and "Toyota" has that same "aah" sound at the end of "ya". So it's "i-dee-ya" and "toy-yo-tah". | |

Car: POWERR!!! Rep Power: 0 ![]() | It's pretty hard to argue with a Brit about pronunciation since they invented the language. My dad does the "a" -> "er" thing too. Banana becomes bananar 8) Jeremy says VW as "Volks Vawgen" Oh and for non bikers - GSX-R is pronounced "Jixxer" (but spelled gixxer) ![]()
