From Clarkson's column in the sun today.

WHO is the Stig? On the internet more people search for the answer to this than ask about the meaning of life or how they may get bigger genital.

Some say that he is a post man from Wakefield and that he invented cheese.

Others argue that there are several Stigs, who are all grown on a farm just out side Nancy in France.

All we know is.... that no one has a clue.

But all that will change tomorrow night when the Stig barges into the studio and in a atmosphere you could cut with a knife, removes his helmet.

Also mentioned on Transmission a few minutes ago.

The Sun has the worst website I've ever seen. I can't manage to find the article online.

I think most people have read between the lines and worked out what's going on, when, how and why but I'm not going to spoil anyone's fun by revealing it here. images/smilies/tongue.gif

Suffice it to say the supposed revealing of the Stig is a total red herring, horseshit and complete cobblers and will be the hot topic of discussion in every workplace and educational establishment as well as right across the media come Monday morning. images/smilies/wink.gif

Red herring it's going to be. More brightly red than Max Mosley's red and freshly spanked arse.

One curious thing I noticed: they're not allowing comments to be posted on the story on the TG website.

EDIT: I hope everyone saw Stiggie at Silverstone today.

It's probably a marketing trick - the whole world will watch Top Gear tomorrow to see who The Stig is.

Even if they do in fact remove his helmet, I'm pretty he will have some hillarious mask on, that won't reveal his real personality.

Maybe under the Stig's helmet there's another helmet.

Based on what I've heard it'll be an epic episode.

Anyway, in relation to Stig, I don't really care who it is, just as long as he's/she's/it's still on the show.

Trust me it isn't. A working knowledge of UK English vernacular and careful reading of my post above may provide a clue, but not such an obvious one as to require spoiler text. If you don't wanna know then don't re-read it or think too hard about it. images/smilies/wink.gif

Let's just say our esteemed member from Hove, East Sussex, summed it up very well.

Another hint: I love it when TG take the piss out of something! images/smilies/biggrin.gif (To understand that one will require at least passing knowledge of what happened in the British press a bit earlier in the year, which also got a little coverage on these boards.)
