Awesome, stick it to 'em! If the governments in charge of the protected areas were so concerned about the salt flats, they wouldn't have let them film there.

Er, those hippies have a disproportionate influence in the BBC.

The BBC is behaving "hypocritically" by allowing more than one viewpoint to be broadcast?
Right.

Salt flats? They're worried about salt flats? pfft. hahahaha
Reminds me how most of Arizona is getting shut down against ATV's and other off-road vehicles, just so massive forest fires can destroy thousands of acres that'll take decades to recover. I wonder if they're still pissed that we littered on the moon.

Interesting how the careless self-indulgent show is the one getting 250 million viewers.

And let's make it HUGE, and ignore all claims that holding a concert to save the world that causes clouds of pollution is hypocritical!

What the hell do you need to protect a SALT flat for? Its bloody salt crying out loud. The only thing living on it is bacteria. That is insane.

I read a good article about how he loved those particular salt flats (a tangent from a car review). Apparently it's the most desolate place on earth and a real sight to see.

To Greenish environmentalists --> get a life! --> global warming my ass, this summer is so far the one of coldest I remeber in central europe, mid-june till now there were temperatures of no more than 27-28°C |

.....but but climate change.....
Salt Flats? pfffffffff what lives on them? Hell we've been out on our local (well 6 hours) flats and there isn't bugger all out there. Really. Why do you think races and world land speed attempts are held on salt pans? Erm what about the salt pans in the US (can some American point out to me what they are called there, I know it but I cant remember what they are called for the life of me)? Do these dumb twins understand what happens when rain falls on these salt pans/flows into them? |

Let's have a salt-flat Prius race!
Seriously, if it was the Amazon or the Serengeti, or maybe powerboating in the Great Barrier reef I might care, but who gives a stuff about salt flats apart from hippies. Last edited by Donington; July 8th, 2007 at 11:21 AM. |

Yeah, right, its really bad to drive on salt flats. They should have built a road trough there. And make it really smooth so that the Hybrids don't use as much gas...
