What a work of genius proportions! "Lentil -eating lesbians" should be given cult-status in these forums now and should be made THE phrase of insult! images/smilies/lol.gif
We know it'll have become really popular once Clarkson starts using it in his reviews...

Default Hamster's take

And I found the following over at http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/columnists/hammond/
TOP GEAR TEAM
14/07/2007

FOR once I can say on behalf of the Top Gear team: we're innocent. Reports on our Botswana trip would have you think we'd crossed the country in a convoy of bulldozers. In fact, the only danger to flora and fauna was being trampled by hordes of ecologists and wildlife experts. It was a fascinating, inspiring journey through an incredible landscape. The results will be on telly nearer Christmas and will speak for themselves.
Can't wait for the next season.

Its going to be funny seeing the "environmentalists" trying to explain why they caused a fuss when we see on TG that theres no damage being done to the Salt Flats images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Talking of calling people a LEL, I was just nosing through the Digital Spy site [a TV media site], they have a thread dedicated to James May which is over two hundred pages long. Obviously I wasn't going to read all of it, but I did go back a few pages to get the gist of it. Not only does this site get a mention, but there was also mention of 'lentil-eating lesbians' and 'LELs'. Clearly there is a Digital Spy member amongst us.

I am a DS member but I steer clear of the James May thread after reading the first few pages when it first appeared.

I can see why having read a few more pages... I can't say I like that site very much; some of it is really rather anal. Quite why anyone would want to discuss TV station idents is beyond me, but each to their own I suppose.

I just joined for my Humax PVR. The only place I ever comment is in the General Discussion sections.

Most stupid thing though is that they are afraid the 'boy-racers' who watch the programme will do the same as Clarkson and co! Total rubbish of course because:

A. Boy racers can't pay for a trip to Botswana, certainly not with a stolen ford escort.
B. Why would one go and drive very fast on a ridiculously hot salt pan when you can also drive a 100 miles to the nearest race track.
C. Not every top gear viewer is a 'boy-racer' (at least I'm not, I prefer a race track where you can be dangerous without harming any people other than yourself).
D. Just SHUT UP!!! I'm getting so irritated of men (and women) with beards!

I read somewhere the other day that the government of Botswana had investigated this incident and cleared the BBC/Top Gear of any blame. I'll try and remember where I saw it and post a link.
