Clarkson in Bolivia, possibly entire team

As Jeremy discussed in his last times comment column, he was recently in Bolivia. As James has recently commented on having "just got home" I think its reasonable to assume a Top Gear South American challenge. Does anybody have any links? If they really were in Bolivia, they may very well have gone to the happily monikered "road of death." It really is a fitting name:





I would expect another Vietnam/Africa/America the first time type special. This along with Belfast and Romania should make for a great international season!

Jeremy mentioned La Paz, which is where you would go to pick up the Yungas road. You drive on the left on this road, so that you can see over the sheer cliff-face more easily.

I only managed to find a few snippets of info so far on the interweb. They have been working together with a company from Oregon called MetalTech.

Turns out Mark got a call from the BBC’s Top Gear, needing a FJ40 cage and technical advisor for an up coming shoot in Bolivia where they plan on racing three rigs over the Andes Mountains. There is certainly no one better to have on your FJ40 build than the guys from Metal Tech, but that meant Mark was a little busy working the phones, tracking down parts and loading the rig for the Con.

I met the guys from Top Gear a week or so ago. They were filming on the 'death road' in Bolivia while I was riding down it on a Mountain Bike.

Keep an eye out for it! Looked like they were having an epic time.

I have been thinking on that road for a few minutes now and I have decided there is no one on earth I would allow to drive me on it. If I am going to die, I will do it by my own hand.

I am pretty adventrous, but I draw the line at that road. But I am looking forward to watching it on Top Gear.

They say there are a hundred deaths a year on it. I am surprised at that number. I would guess at least one accident a day, and when you consider some of those are bound to be busses or trucks loaded with people, 100 deaths a year is not that bad. Still, not for the faint hearted and I have just discovered, I think I am.

Daniel Lazzo Rojas Top Gear: they should come to Bolivia for one of the epic adventures and drive across the country. All sort of roads, highlands, jungles, salt lakes and the death road.
But they shoul do it with low price hatchbacks or something, or low price saloons or just budget cars, youll be amazed waht you can find for low prices in bolivia (Lots of imprezas wrx)
