As Jeremy discussed in his last times comment column, he was recently in Bolivia. As James has recently commented on having "just got home" I think its reasonable to assume a Top Gear South American challenge. Does anybody have any links? If they really were in Bolivia, they may very well have gone to the happily monikered "road of death." It really is a fitting name:
![]() I would expect another Vietnam/Africa/America the first time type special. This along with Belfast and Romania should make for a great international season!

We'll see. Don't think we have members in that area, though.
Tomorrow, we should also have the TV listing for the day when TG S14 ought to begin. I'm really curious as to what they start with.

Jeremy mentioned La Paz, which is where you would go to pick up the Yungas road. You drive on the left on this road, so that you can see over the sheer cliff-face more easily.

I only managed to find a few snippets of info so far on the interweb. They have been working together with a company from Oregon called MetalTech.
Quote:
Some dude's blog People of MetalTech themselves have posted in this forum. You might want to watch it in case pics show up here: http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forum...h-bolivia.html And they were on the Death Road. Someone from Australia met them while he/she was there as well: Quote:

for LindenChase!! This sounds like it will be excellent to watch! An FJ40, off-roading for real! I can't wait!

Bloody hell! Just thinking about this makes me nervous. I can't even go out on my sixth floor balcony without getting dizzy. (To be fair though, one did fall off our building a few years back.)
Should be awesome, though! Thanks, LC! |

A very cool Toyota that hasn't been produced in quite some time. In the USA, Toyota introduced the FJ Cruiser a couple of years back. The FJ40 is supposed to be the FJ Cruiser's progenitor.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_FJ40 Word of warning: I didn't check the wikipedia link to see if it was correct or not.

No doubt Top Gears film will be more impressive than this, but have a look anyway.
I can hardly stand to look at it much less drive on it.

I have been thinking on that road for a few minutes now and I have decided there is no one on earth I would allow to drive me on it. If I am going to die, I will do it by my own hand.
I am pretty adventrous, but I draw the line at that road. But I am looking forward to watching it on Top Gear. They say there are a hundred deaths a year on it. I am surprised at that number. I would guess at least one accident a day, and when you consider some of those are bound to be busses or trucks loaded with people, 100 deaths a year is not that bad. Still, not for the faint hearted and I have just discovered, I think I am.

Judging from the past, it would seem they probably took the advice from facebook. If you read through the show/site suggestions on this site, many have been done/combined and done.
