Speaking of James, he most likely wasn't there if this was indeed filmed yesterday (the ninth). He was supposed to meet the Queen this weekend at the Chelsea Flower Show. images/smilies/tongue.gif

Sounds from the above newspaper article as if only Richard and the Stig were there, although I thought at first from the photos that that was Jeremy in the jeans.

Top Gear obviously has had a good relationship with the Emirates from the time of the 3 Bugattis
shoot for the magazine. Now it looks as if the next TG franchise might be from there

http://www.thenational.ae/article/20...176928281/1089

Where will it end!

Mmmm, SLR 722 images/smilies/wub.gif

An article from WCF:

Quote:
Almuhairi also stated that police closed a 3km (1.86 mile) section of a local roadway, which in addition to the presence of the Stig, suggests that the segment will feature an epic race or comparisson between the four vehicles.

There 4 cars there so.... Jezza in the Lambo, Hammond in the Veyron, Stig in the McLaren SLR, and Capt. Slow in the F1? images/smilies/lol.gif

Maybe he realized that heels don't make you any taller when you're in sand? After all, cowboy boots are men's excuse to wear heels.

I read something a little while ago about how UAE has debtor's prison and, with the recent economic crisis, many expats are opting to flee the country, rather than pay up or find themselves in jail. The article I read said that people are abandoning all sorts of condos, fancy cars, etc. just leaving the keys and jetting away so they don't wind up in the pokey.

Now, this might make for an interesting Top Gear challenge: the one who finds the best abandoned supercar wins. They might even manage a way to get it back to the UK (somehow.)

Jeremy hasn't been spotted there; and, as LindenChase alluded to, James is getting his plasticine flower garden ready for the Chelsea Flower Show, as part of a doc he's working on. (The Show is May 19-23.)

Maybe the filming in the Emirates is not for the show per se. Maybe Hamster and Stig are there working on another interactive stunt DVD. Or maybe it's something for the magazine.

How many more times are we going to see a Bowler on Top Gear? I'm tired of it already. We get it - it's an awesome off-roader, now please move on!

I don't buy that for a second. How many times have they had the Enzo on? The 911? Heck, even the Golf makes regular appearances. When someone else makes an off-roader that can compete with the Bowler, it might get less airtime. Until then, I'm quite happy to keep watching it destroy the turf.

Default More supercar driving in the UAE

Not sure if this would class as spoilers, but decided to put it just incase.

Top Gear filmed Hammond racing a Lamborghini Murciélago 670 SuperVeloce around a small town called Liwa, here at the weekend, 200 miles into the desert, around some of the worlds largest dunes.

It is to be screened in July so look out for it.

Scenic wise, it will be something similar to this

http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/6731/renaultr28highwaydubaij.jpg

Hammond also cruised around the city in a Mercedes McLaren SLR 722 along our seafront in the city

http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x219/trinisuprazee/img00041200905080849.jpg

Another one

Short youtube video of a couple of the cars

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIC9L3TdREI

And here's a pic of the Lambo in deepest Liwa

The black one looks like a SL 65 bs, though... It even says AMG on the back... The one in the 2nd pic looks like a SLR... Weird...

The Merc that Hammond did it in was a silver one - the black one is just another pic with the Lambo in the background

The Enzo only appeared twice, the second time it was more of a cameo. The Golf??? Apart from the GTI review a couple of years ago and the mental W-engined Golf, I can't recall any other Golf reviews.

My main point is that the Bowler is always driven by Hammond, and I'm getting quite bored with that.
