I'm not talking about reviews, I'm talking about usage. As I recall the Bowler has only been reviewed once as well (in the famous "Driving God" ep). Even the current shoot seems to be more about a competition than a review.

Plus, the last Bowler cameo wasn't using Hammond as the driver, he was just providing commentary (when it raced the off-road skateboarder). Not to mention that race first pitted the skater against an Evo, and how many times have we seen the Evo on Top Gear?

Quote:
My main point is that the Bowler is always driven by Hammond, and I'm getting quite bored with that.
So my main point is that, if you're going to complain about the TG staff repeatedly using their favorite cars in silly shoots, you're going to have a lot to complain about. Just because you happen not to like the Bowler doesn't mean the rest of us don't enjoy seeing it.

We've seen the Bowler again since then, in the battle against D Motor. Hammond did drive it then, and did drool over it, as is usual. images/smilies/tongue.gif

And in between then, Hammond also drove it against that jet-powered canoe in Iceland.

Nice. A hour drive from my house, and by the way, this is like 15 minutes drive from Jabel (Mount) Hafeet, where Tiff from FG drove and said its one of the best driving roads in the world. I think TG and FG spy on each other a lot.

I know I'm dredging up an old argument, but I'm in the middle of a marathon rewatch and I've noticed a couple of things to refute Gman333-X-ferrari:

1) The Enzo has been on at least twice. It was reviewed in S5E2, but it was on again as part of James's "engine noises theme song" in S6E11.

2) The Bowler was not used against the kayak in Iceland, that was the Tomcat. It's Icelandic. Probably sort of the point of the bit.

That means, to date, the Bowler has only been on three times, which is only once more than the Honda Jazz. That's not so bad, is it?

They also showed a clip of the Enzo review in S5E7 as part of the awards ceremony.

So that's three episodes it's been on.

and if you want to be reeeaaallly pedantic about it, it also appeared in the SE51 montage, and it was discussed in the interview with JK in S1E2 -- with a picture.

That makes five.

No biggie here, just a few details of the film's "plot":

Quote:
The episode features one of the programme’s main presenters, Richard Hammond, living out his version of a dream holiday.

The scene opens with Hammond relaxing on a beach in a glamorous location before it cuts to him racing across the desert driving a Bowler Nemesis
This, however, is quite interesting:

Quote:
However, this shoot is meant to be part of a larger programme that the BBC hopes to package in a DVD in time for the Christmas season.

Everyone's right! Some stuff for the mag, some stuff for the telly, AND lots of stuff for a DVD.
