Portofino is stunning!
But I don't see how the car is gonna have a chance, its a 342km drive, where it can be quite a bit of traffic. The boat can go flat out the whole way.

James and Richard were indeed in Saint Tropez later this week and made a thank-you video for winning the TV Choiche award for best Lifestyle Show. No Jeremy there either. Perhaps they let him have the trophy.

The rear end of that boat actually looks like a car
I like it, and I also like the Ferrari and the whole thing. Should well be a nice feature in the show, this.

Location looks stunning. Seems to be the basis for a decent film as well. Looks like the quality is on the way back after a lacklustre (imho) series 11. Only 5.5 weeks to go people.

Wow, what a beauty! and the car is nice too.
I know the AA offer European assistance, but do they use AA branded vans for it? Surely they wouldn't drag one all the way from the UK for a shoot, would they?

They're probably doing some sort of Ferrari Daytona homage clip, in light of the new one that's coming out.
That's a damn sexy boat... First time I've ever stared at a boat longer than a car.

Hey All, Glad you liked my pics,
That boat (there was actually 2)did look and sound pretty quick but the weather was very average so James and crew would have punched in to a nasty swell all the way (about 120NM/215km's) and most of the 342kms the Ferrari had to drive is on the Autoroute, somehow I think there little races are rigged anyway. They had a Range rover camera car that no doubt stayed with the GTB. Sorry I missed the plates on the AA van. I didn't notice where it was from. And the boats were called 'Bacarella one' BTW, Portofino is amazing! the pictures can't do it justice, It's widely agreed to be the most beautiful port in the world. |

They aren't, they're just very well planned out so that they look good for TV. I mean, if it was rigged, it'd totally get out eventually and that'd be a PR disaster. They'd be stupid to rig it, good TV or not.
Oh, and

If they were rigged, the race to Oslo wouldn't have been such a disaster.

If you want to know what James thought about he whole speed boat thing, you have to read his frankly briljant and hilarious column that will appear in the Daily Telegraph this weekend.
