IN CASE YOU DIDN'T CATCH THE THREAD TITLE - THERE ARE SPOILERS INVOLVED
Quote:
So they're promoting it to be an "epic road trip", not an "epic race" like we've seen in past series'. Sounds interesting....I wonder if this is the first of many. However - don't get me wrong, I love the new Jag XK (and now XKR), but I'm really getting bored of seeing Clarkson rave on about how good it is. I know its a British program and thus the big 'song and dance' about it, but c'mon - can we get over it and maybe test something else please? I would love this "epic road trip" to involve something other than the Jag XKR. There are plenty of new cars just waiting to be tested. The Porsche 911 Turbo for example. Anyways, I still can't wait

and by the big country, I think that means the US? (Because UK isn't very big or does he mean the entire Europe?)

Yeah, I presumed that meant US. As we know that they were there lately.

I'm just bored from the Jaguar XK... They already had it on the show twice.
I know this is the XKR, but another car would have been much better. The 599 GTB, the Gallardo SE or maybe the Turbo 997 as mentioned before... |

Isn't the epic road trip all the muscle cars they drove across America? Jezza was filming partly for his forthcoming DVD and the rest was for Top Gear and the guys flew out to meet him. That's when the stig got arrested for looking strange. And apparently there was some great stuff in New Orleans, partly because they all got hammered (apart from Jeremy for some strange reason) and ended up in a strip joint and James was the pure English gent and asked the dancer where she would like her $20 bill putting!

Nice of TGM to make it sound like a whoah surprise, they should tell their presenters to shut up though and not publish their own spoilers.
Hammond mentioned it in The Mirror, Clarkson in Sunday Times and although James hasn't written about it, he's not exactly kept schtum about being in the States over the summer either. |

Would jezza have said what he thinks about America to the americans, if he did that would be good to watch.

the XK is actually a very important car, it pretty much could make or break Jag's future.
As opposed to other cars coming out this year, like the 997 Turbo and 599 GTB, the XK is most likely the one to be to driven day to day around the year. And besides, Tom did a roadtrip in the 599 already, it would be the first time TG would be accused of copying FG.

Looks like another step towards entertaining and away from cars... Last series was funny and entertaining but somehow there was missing a lot from the past series...
And the XKR - who needs that piece of sh*t - I wouldn't mind him driving the DB9 again, but the new Jag... its just nothing special this car. He should take this journey in a mad car - a MTM Apollo, RUF 911 with 650 bhp, tuned viper or the new Lamborghini Murcielago... Jan

This is more of an online/magazine thing then a tv thing, it seems.

They could be trying to break the record from new york to LA, thats the route of the original canonball run. It ends at this hotel half a mile to where my grandma lives. The hotel is pretty nice, but on the side facing the ocean you can hear seals really early in the morning.
