yeah, saddly this TG special is probably as funny a CR will get. the rest of it is just garbage, im sick of it

at least billy connely showed us that the money is being spent properly, in parts, but i still get the feeling that most of these raise money for africa thigns are just a waste of time

green peace and the like should STFU and let africa get busy with their coal oil and gas supplies

It was quite funny but TBH none of them really looked comfortable doing the show.

well, I enjoyed it very much- the news was hilarious! 'Songs you shouldn't play on hospital radio'....images/smilies/lol.gif

and Clarkson did yell something at the end but I couldn't catch it....

Yep, Comic Relief has gone downhill after Top Gear. We currently have the Prime Minister trying to do a comedy sketch... seriously.
I have never been so embarrassed in my entire life.

It wasn't half bad although they might want to stick to car reviews instead of being in a band. Why oh god did they pick McFly to do the song, I couldn't hear a dam word they said apart from "James is a geek".

In terms of Comic Relief as usual my school made far to big a deal out of it, I tuned up and I think was the only person not to be arsed with it all. For saving Africa ill stick to the ONE campaign and Bono thank you very much.

It was good, the only thing that bored me was some of the songs...Travis. The others were good though as they were pretty funny. The end song was the best though, and they played it quite well.

I think that was pretty good. The news was hilarious and so was the part when Jeremy dropped the drum sticks, but I think it would have been better if they had left out the "reminders as to why we're here" bits. They show enough clips of dying people in Africa and that sort of thing throughout the rest of the evening.

They have to have the clips or it would be pointless. There are loads of people (like me) who just tuned in for the Top Gear bit and have now turned it off.

we see those naff videos so much that honestly they have no effect

year after year its a video of some small black kids covered in flies in a shitty hospital. 1) its not even remotely shocking 2) we've given millions up on millions every year and every year the videos show the same shit.... so from that, i take it my money is doing didly squat. hence this year i havent even bought a red-nose or donated to CR. i think ill donate it to the woman colecting money for the local hospice outside of JJB in the town

Exactly. The only way the money will ever make a difference is if we give billions and billions so that they can actually do something about it, or if we give nothing at all. At the minute Comic Relief raises similar amounts and it's just become a standard amount of income every year for places like Africa - it make a whole lot of difference.

Are you insane? If you do actually watch the night, half of the videos they show you are the ones which show you how the money has been spent, and you see new hospitals, ambulances and stuff with Comic Relief written all over them. And it's not the 'same sh*t' its just the same problem in a different place. Africa is quite big y'know, one years worth of donations is not going to sort the whole problem. And quite frankly if you don't get some sort of reaction from those videos, then theres something wrong with you. You say also you'll donate your money to the local hospice woman instead of CR, but we both know that's b*llocks don't we?

It wasn't bad, but I think there was a bit too much of a reliance of artist performances, rather than our favourite presenters. But obviously, since it was comic relief, it can be allowed especially due to the intended nature of the show, even if Top Gear is usually light hearted as it is.

I did laugh at the end performance, but I absolutely loved the unexpected appearance of c'etait une rendezvous - my nerdish car chase characteristics got the better of me images/smilies/biggrin.gif

It was still pretty funny images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Jeremy was out of time on the drums but you could tell from the look on his face he was really concentrating on getting it right, lol.

i liked it. i thought the supergrass performance was good (even though i'm too young to like them). but i'm worried about the chicken. should have recorded it, my PC was running. surely someone has it on a HDD?

That was really good fun. Best bit of the night! Supergrass bit was good. The news was fun. The Top Gear band was good considering their inexperience. And it made me laugh, unlike the rest of CR.
