    Top Gear In Vietnam

I have it on good authority the lads are about to start filming a Vietnam Special, which will presumably air in Series 12.

Don't they usually have filming wrapped up a couple of months before the airing for editing? If they're just starting to film, they must have had a lot going on to have waited till now...

Other than a random post on your blog that cites no actual sources or proof, what makes you think this?

I find it much more likely that your information is incorrect, especially since Clarkson was just in that region (Cambodia and possibly Vietnam too) with the family at the end of August.

Plus as Blayde said, this is cutting it fairly close. They also already have a "trip" this season here to America.

    But who knows...

There is no replacement for displacement.
    - Wolfgang Bernhard, then Chief Operating Officer, Chrysler Group talking about the Dodge Viper SRT-10
... I ask Herb Helbig, vehicle synthesis manager for SRT and a member of the original Team Viper development group since day one, if they'd ever thought of adding traction control. "It comes with two," he says, pointing at my feet. "Learn to use them." Got it.

I appreciate your skepticism, and by all means take my comments at face value, but other than saying "just trust me" on this one I'm not at liberty to reveal much else, other than I know someone who knows someone. You know how it is.

Yep, that's what I was thinking too, and I imagine the full length episodes require heaps of post-production work as well. I guess it would be a couple of months out if the show aired towards the end of the series.

I may end up being full of hot air ... but I don't think I will be.

Jeremy's column in the Sun today does confirm that he has been filming in Vietnam..

Quote from the papar... A mate suggested this week that I'd been lucky that my last three film shoots had been in Japan, Nevada and Vietnam - all places where people are allowed to smoke indoors. "Lucky?" I said. "Luck doesn't come into it."

I don't like 'The Sun' at all, so I only read Clarkson in 'The Times'. Do you have a link to this article?

The Sun's website only seems to have part of Jeremy's column sorry. Here is the link anyway..

The small paragraph about Vietnam and his other comments do not seem to be there...

Something to remember, however: six months before the Africa special aired, Clarkson spent his family vacation in that region. I suspect that if he sees something exotic enough in his off-TG work, he'll convince the producers that it's worthy of a TG Challenge episode.

Motorbikes? Perhaps that's why Jezza's been practising on the Vespa...If true, we may not see this until season 13.

So they have been filming in Vietnam! If this is a race, it should be epic - can't wait.

Not if it involves motorbikes. I think it's like Botswana. Just getting across from one side to the other no matter what.
