So anyone for some Top Gear stats?

Yes I know I'm nearly a week late with these viewing figures but have had a bit of an insane week with a Swine Flu outbreak.

So Top Gear at its later time of 9pm got 5.5 million viewers with a share of 19.1%. Up against the might of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here, this isn't bad.

I'm a Celebrity in the same slot got 9.8 million with a share of 36.1% which put TG second in its slot - followed by Garrow's Law on BBC One with 4.5 million (share 15.5%).

It wasn't the MOST watched show of the night and to be honest didn't even get into the top five - but did get a respectable rating for a later timeslot on a very busy tv night.

1. The X-Factor with 14.3 million (47.9% share)
2. I'm a celeb with 9.8 million (36.1% share)
3. Doctor Who with 9.1 million (33.9% share)
4. Antiques Roadshow 5.8 million (19.5% share)
5. All Star Family Fortunes 6.1 million (22.4% share)
6. Countryfile 5.7 million (26.0% share)
7. Top Gear 5.5 million (19.1% share)
8. ITV News & Weather at 10:30 5.3 million (29.8% share)

Top Gear opened series 13 with an audience of 7.1 million and a 30.4% share.

So, people like to watch people who know nothing more than watching three guys who sort of have an idea of what they know? Bloody Hell, reality TV should have died long ago.

No problem - yeah the show is doing well - got four hours on Boxing Day to play cool new music which should be fun.

I've met/seen a few cool bands this year but two bands originating in Jersey that are about to doing something big are R.O.M.A.N.C.E and The Valentines.

maybe they only came 7th. but I seriously doubt any of the other shows have an international fanbase that can even come close to TG's; maybe with the exception of dumbass talentless x-factor, since they adopted it in every single contry images/smilies/mad.gif

I'm more surprised about Countryfile. I didn't know people actually watched that show.

I used to until they changed the format, now it's almost all "The Matt n Julia Show" and much less interesting.
At least I prove you can like the outdoors and TG!

well sunday tv is usually aimed at the more older generation regardless anyway. Songs of Praise, Country file, Antiques Roadshow. Of course ITV have their usual X factor bullcrap and generic cop drama shows. Thank god the Doctor and Top Gear was on or i'd have ended up chowing down on a shotgun sandwich.

Keep in mind they may very well have lost even MORE viewers in the 8pm slot given what I perceive was intense competition (sorry I'm not up to date on shit British reality TV, American shit reality TV is bad enough).

I refuse to watch anything resembling a reality show here in America...oh, wait...that's almost every show on TV except South Park, Family Guy, and The Simpsons.
