Well bbc.co.uk/topgear have been a bit slack and haven't uploaded a July wallpaper yet, so rather than wait and see what car they've chosen this month, I decided to just go ahead and make the alternative wallpaper anyway.
I asked the question of what car should feature in this months wallpaper and Dice suggested the SLR, which happens to be one of my favs so it got the honours. Keep the suggestions coming though, as I'm on holidays at the moment, and so I'd be happy to knock up several different versions this month. This month I'm only suppling two sizes, one in widescreen, one in normal. If your monitor resolution is different to the two supplied sizes, then just select 'Stretch' as the display mode and it should be fine. If you have a weird aspect ratio then let me know, I may take pity on you. ![]() As always, please vote in the poll so I can keep track of how many of you are downloading these. ****UPDATE**** Since bbc.co.uk/topgear has selected the CCX for the July wallpaper, I decided to create not 1 but 2 different CCX versions as well. Overheat - you'll be pleased to hear that these two are available in 1920x1200 resolution! - as well as 1920x1440. Again, these two resolutions should work on any other standard or widescreen display, just use the stretch setting instead of centre or tile. let me know what you think.

Happens to be one of my favourites as well
Very nice, clean wallpaper. I'm using the 1600x1200 resolution version.

Just use the widescreen version.
The closest widescreen resolution to 1280x768 is 1280x800. Your not going to notice a 32 pixel distortion. |

I think im the only person in the world using 1280x960
The 1600x1000 looks ok (on stretch), but goes a little funny (most noticeable on the numbers) Gw though ![]() /EDIT Looks fine. After some calculations i relised that my eyes were playing tricks on me. 1600/1200=1.3333333 1280/960=1.333333 |

I get higher resolution photographs which I blow up onto large sheets of paper to display in my room of various manufacturer media sites. For example, Mercedes "Daimler" media site has images of their cara in 4854x3011 res.
I'm not sure if thats the same proportions as what Overheat wanted though... |

In any case, surely having a large flat panel monitor (I have a 15" Iiyama) defeats the purpose of having flat panel monitors? (compactness) Very nice background though.

well, if you've seen the size of a 20" CRT compared to a 20" TFT, you'll agree that it's a massive saving of space
