Default Are they still filming?

They seem to have most of the films for Season 10 done already. Are they only filming the studio segments now, or will they still film some reviews and such? Really just wondering if we will see stuff like the new STi and Evo X in this season or not.

A lot of new cars coming out soon so I hope we don't have to wait until Season 11 for them!images/smilies/cry.gif

Don't they film Sunday's episode on like a Thursday? So if thats the case then yeah they probably are still filming - at least the studio bits.

I know the news is filmed during the week, with just enough time to edit it and air on Sunday evening. As for the studio bits, I'm not sure, but I reckon they film them at the same time as the news.

Oh Yeah. They obviously film the studio bits every week (Wednesdays I think.) I thought he was talking about other non-studio filming, like another review or something. images/smilies/wacko.gif

Yes, studio bits are filmed Wednesday. Not sure if the outdoor segments are done yet or not.

Remember James May on Sky News a couple of weeks back? he was saying that he is going to film a new stunt the week after (this probably being late last week/ this week). When i was talking to Hammond at the studio last week, he said that "I haven't finished with the helmet yet" which pretty much infers that filming it still going on.

There are other reasons to suggest that they are still filming....Just can't think at the momentimages/smilies/blink.gif lol

Yeah, I know they film the studio bits each week. I was asking about other non-studio stuff. Like more car reviews and crazy stunts. Thought that was pretty clear.images/smilies/wacko.gif

Sounds like they keep filming then. Awesome how much work they put into the show. Months filming the bulk of it, and then putting it together and still getting more material. Looks like a lot of fun though, I'd certainly switch places in a heartbeat.

That would be a hell of a lot of work, a lot of editing and a lot of takes to get those shots right.

I thought most of their 'films' were shot well before the start of the studio segments/star in a reasonably priced car segments. and by the time the show actaully starts airing, they dont really have time to do off site filming anymore.

another question is, does the stig do any of his actual lap times during the time they air the show, or months earlier like they do with their road films?

Well, no, because the car that The Stig uses to do the lap in is always in the studio from the start to finish of filming. However, last week when I was at the filming, before the video of The Stig in the golf came on, Clarkson said "oooo Bryan has only just finished editing this, lightening speed!" or something like that. So I am thinking that the lap is done just before filiming starts and is then brought into the studio.

Also, when I was hanging around the car park before going down to the studio, I do remember seeing a car flying down the runway.

The Golf was definitely going round the track on recording day - whether that was the film they used I don't know. I also saw the lambo roaring down there but that may have been the owner having a sly one!

.
I could have sworn on some eps (earlier series) that on some occasions, the car the stig races around the track is a different color from the one shown in the studio, telling me that for 1) the car in the studio was obviously not the one the stig sets a lap time in and 2) the stig was filmed doing a lap time in a different colored car provided by the manufacturer at a date earlier than the studio filming day.

James has done an interview for MPH podcast

http://www.mphshow.podcastdownloads.co.uk/

He says most of the filming is done but theres still bits to film apart from the studio stuff but for once they are actually ahead.
