Look at the news in 11x01 when they were discussing the new Hyandi Coupe. If May wasnt there I dont think the whole Genesis thing might not of been as funny, as we know that Clarkson and May have similar tastes in music. (6x01 news I think)

Have to admit that part did work particularly well for me. Was a Genesis fan in my teens so the references all made perfect sense and I was ROFLMAO - Mrs Herworksfinetoo simply looked puzzled.

This has been going on for quite sometime now. I have noticed since the last series especially during the news section, James isn't given even time or attention. Even when he says something funny, we can barely hear the audience laugh when the camera shifts and Jeremy goes "hey listen up now..." or something; or we are provided with an unconnected shot. Whether the producers think his comments sometimes aren't funny enough might be the reason, but i honestly do find them humorous.
Anyone else notices this? |

I was very disappointed to see how minuscule a part James had in 11x02. Not much in 11x01 either. WE WANT MORE JAMES MAY!!!

I must say I have never been a huge fan of James, but he is an irreplaceable part of the show, and I would hate to see him go.
I don't think they're getting rid of him, I mean, he's never been a huge part of the show, and he hasn't done a car review in ages. It's probably just coincidence that he hasn't had many segments in the recent eps.

TopGear have been watching this.
Here's Andy Wilman's response to our topic (from his blog) -"Secondly, if Final Gear boys are still tuned in, one of you wrote a couple of weeks ago that James hadn't been in the series much, and that we therefore must be grooming the viewers for him leaving. Pleeeeeese. Go and put that fertile conspiracy theory brain of yours to better use. Find out if Kennedy was shot in Dallas, or during a faked moon landing. I think you're right, there's not been enough James and Richard solo films this run - it's a bit of a Rubik's Cube putting a show together and that's the way the cards have fallen. Hopefully we'll sort it in the next series, but no, James isn't going. He'll go when he gets grumpy and fed up with the show, and to my memory he's been grumpy and fed up with the show since the day he started. " |

Good to see Andy finally clearing it up. Though personally I wasn't worried, almost all of the films are done before they move into full production in June and a certain presenter was busy drinking is way around California for most of March, April and May during TG's pre series shooting time.

![]() On a side note, there was more of him on 11x05 and I am sure this feeling is coming because the show is more quickly paced lately, which is a good thing. |
