Default BBC admit Top Gear caravan blaze was a stunt

Quote:
The BBC has admitted that a scene in its hit show Top Gear apparently showing an accidental caravan fire had been faked.

The episode showed presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May taking the caravan on a trip to Dorset, with the blaze erupting after Clarkson began cooking some chips at a campsite.

Viewers saw a fire engine race into the site, with sirens wailing, as if the crew faced a real emergency - but the fire service involved have confirmed that the entire scene was set up.

Top Gear producers had contacted the brigade several weeks before filming - and paid about £1,000 to have six crew members and an engine on standby for the stunt.

Two thing's non-U.K. members need to know:

1. It's the Daily Mail looking for trouble and here's why...
2. .. there has been a lot of controversy in the U.K. recently about broadcasters conning viewers - mainly in phone-in competitions. You phone in - you are charged for the call and the competition has already closed, or a member of the production company pretends to be a caller.

The Mail had specifically used the word "faked" to fit in with this on-going story. It's yet another attempt by the Mail to bitch at the BBC. Don't be surprised if one on the in-bred Tory wankers who writes for the Mail comes up with another 'fake' Top Gear item.

It's always the Mail and it's always a load of bollocks.

Wow, that's news to me!!

(P.S - i'm lying)

Who the hell cares! If all the things they got up to weren't stunts, the BBC would have cancelled the show years ago with all the 'supposed' damage they had caused along the way. Grow up Daily Mail images/smilies/tongue.gif

It doesn't really take a rocket scientist to figure out it was staged now does it?

I wonder what else was faked. Redneck Attack in the America special?

They fake a lot of things, as well as, leaving out facts and twisting information. No surprise there.

I don't think the redneck stuff was fake, the entire crew was in the scene and they usually don't do that for anything.

And its so dumb they are making a big deal out of it, almost every single movie is fake, get over it. Its called acting! Its not like they ever said "this is 100% real, not staged or anything and we'd bet all our lives on it" its just what you believe that's all.

Bloody BBC admitting to faking EVERYTHING, I don't mind if it's a competition, that's the public trust, but c'mon, this spoils people's fun!

In response, Top Gear should fake a moon landing. It would be hilarious as well.
