I've spent quite a bit of time on the water and I watch those Travel Channel specials about Mega Yachts, and I've never seen anything like it. My guess is that it's a one-off custom that was designed and built just for the owner.

not really, AFAIK you can get custom everything, but the hull or chassis or whatever is more or less the same, but you can pick and rearrange what goes on and where.

That's not always true. Most boats ordered from the factory are like that, but there are some boatyards that specialize in keel-up one-off designs. These boats are the new status symbol as mega yachts are becoming more and more popular. Other billionaires with a sense of adventure are buying and refurbishing commercial fishing vessels, converting them in to luxury yachts. The utility of the designs combined with the heavy construction means they can carry plenty of toys, like smaller boats, kayaks, surfboards, wave runners, etc. - they can also handle rougher seas and head farther north than the more lightly built "consumer" grade yachts.

Hmm, it looks a lot like the boat that my friend Colonel Juan Garcia Cortez used to escape from the authorities back in 1986 when I was coke baron living in Miami...

No. Wait. I'm confusing video games with reality again.

nvm.
