Filming Vehicles
What vehicles have you seen our chaps being filmed by? So far I've seen a few range rovers, a U-haul Van, and few others, what do they use to constantly keep ahead of Clarkson in the cross-country duels as the Bugatti Veryon is very fast. Does Clarkson stop to wait for them? I just kinda wanna figure out what they use, and how exactly they keep ahead of Clarkson? Especially in around the track in fast vehicles? And aye, it's my first post but it's an honest question.

regarding the races, they do the filming afterwards on the way back in order to get the shots without interfering with the race.

The track camera car is some beat up hatch with a camera mounted on it. There was a glimps of it in the last episode of the last series I think. The some shots during the race segments are of a second run done by another driver.

Ah, makes sense. But what do they use on the track? I mean, it can't be easy trying to stay ahead of JC for any ammount of time if he's in say, an Enzo.

Those shots of Jeremy following the camera car are done at a certain speed, never fast, until Jeremy passes the camera car after sometime. Look at reviews like the Lambo LP640, or the Mustang GT500 with Richard.

Jeremy has also mentioned in a couple of his car reviews that quite often they use Ford Mondeo hatchbacks as fliming cars, because the cameraman has loads of space in the boot when the bootlid is open.

Thanks guys. Was just the question I had for the moment. I was hoping for some exotic, but I guess sometimes it's best left to the imagination as is the stig.

It's not brilliantly clear but I would hazard a guess at an A3 or a Mk3 Golf.

Didn't they use that Range Rover that was lent to them for a while? The one where if it broke Jeremy could eat the Managing Director of Range Rovers dog? lol

The camera stands can be set up for how much the camera should shake. It can be along the lines of the some of the camera shots in the Koengisegg CCX review, the ones that give it that sense of speed, or that of Richard's limo passing
