... less than 500 what? 500 Stones? I don´t think there are any Rovers left you can buy ... maybe get paid to relieve the Owners of that Junk ... images/smilies/biggrin.gif

I really liked the Cheap-Car challanges ... they are one of my favorites ... but it is going to be hard coming up with something entertaining. I´d like them to go at Japanese Cars of the 80ies ... them ultra-boring Boxes. But again ... try setting a Pricelimit ... 5 Tic-Tacs? And for that the Car will probably not even go wrong, but be perfectly reliable images/smilies/lol.gif How boring ... I like it better when the Cars fall apart images/smilies/smile.gif So ... go for French Stuff images/smilies/biggrin.gif I´d love too see something like the R4 or R5 ...
Or maybe something like the Rolls Royce Jeremy sunk in that Pool. Luxury Limosine for 2000 Pounds ... ?

Or going to one of these Auctions where Cities sell Cars they´ve seized, and see what you get for 150 Pounds ...

They should get cars from between 1985 and 1995, engines no bigger than 1600cc, weight no less than 1000 kg, and I don't know, perhaps £2000 to buy them and prepare them for fast driving?

A used cheap Korean car challenge! James is his Hyundai Accident 3 cylinder diesel, Jeremy in his Kia Rio, and I dunno, Richard in something else terrible.

I can see the looks on their faces as the producers tell them this, haha!

I really like the idea of them buying each others cars - I'd love to see Jezzas face if he had to drive from one end of the UK to the other in a Vectra, or a Kelisa images/smilies/biggrin.gif

^ Yes I like that one.

How about a 2000 Yard drag race as a challenge? The 2000 challenges etc..

cheap convertibles going from LA to San Francisco (up Highway 1, by the coast, and also on some of the stand-still freeways of southern california) on a really rainy day. i know it's sorta been mentioned, but i think that'd be a good one, especially when the three of them bring the whole of Los Angeles to a stop...

I say they have to get free cars no newer than 1975 and compete in the following challenges:

Drag race
Slalom
500 mile trip - point for best MPG, quickest time, and deductions for breakdowns
Parallel parking
Towing a caravan across downtown London - points for just getting there, and for not hitting or being hit by anyone, deductions for breakdowns, accidents and shaking their head if they look in the rear view mirror.

I dunno, I am just rambling here, but I think it would be entertaining!

I can just imagine James in a very, very old Caddie trying to complete the slalom.

A idea struck me today. Michael Stahl went to Bentley for Wheels magazine and specced his own Bentley Arnage to his liking. Why not get these three to do the same as a segment?

Not talking about a whole episode but just a 10-15 minute chunk. The arguments would be monumental!!! Richard would want guns on it, James would want soft leather and cigars in the centre console and Jeremy would want something vulgar! Entertaining yet still informative for us car nuts as we get to see the Bentley factory etc.

Then auction the car off for Charity. Its still a Bentley Arnage at the end of the day!!

I was thinking of a challence where everyone would get a same car (a normal cheapish car) and a certain amount of money to improve it. They would not know what the upcoming challences are and they could do whatever they wanted to the cars. Jeremy could turbocharge his car, lighten it and get some racing tires, James could add some luxury equipment and Richard could add something silly to his. images/smilies/smile.gif

Seeing the pictures of Jeremy in the Peel P50 led me to the Microcar Museum (http://www.microcarmuseum.com/index.html) which led me to thinking how amusing a Micro Car Challenge could be. The boys would each have to find a vintage micro car in running condition, obtain it and then meet at some location where the usual "series of challenges" would be handed out.

They should buy pre 1990 hot hatches (Golf Mk 1, Peugeot 205++++) or
they each have to buy the first car they ever owned. (not THE first car, just similar) or
buy a smallish car each and then fit a V8 engine images/smilies/biggrin.gif
i mean, how hard could it be!? , lol

I like the buying each others cars idea thou images/smilies/lol.gif

Or how about something like a challenge where they have to buy Soviet-built cars!! Volga or GAZ or something...I bet the boys have never even driven any of those!

+1 for buying cars for each other!
